I checked the FB page for Chaos in Tejas after I saw this post, looks like they booked Wrathprayer. _________________ Good sellers/traders: metalmac, greenmonster, Transcendence, GoldenBull, Paria

Chaos is cool. I'm definitely not as stoked on the line-up for MDF 2013 as I was for 2012, but even then most of the bands I'd really be pumped to see at Chaos in 2013 are playing MDF already anyway. |

i like being able to go to Chaos and see the bands i want that are similar all playing together, cutting out everything else i don't care for. with mdf you deal with whatever the bands playing each day are and skip individually, but i always think it's far more impressive lineup wise especially with exclusive gigs/headliners. i'm also not that into punk at all so i favor MDF, but they're two different fest with two different atmospheres, especially when comparing Baltimore to Austin. _________________ good users |

seeing the schedule, there are hardly any bands each day i want to see. 3-4 maybe on average.
it looks like its also the least amount of bands playing next year at the former Sonar than previous years, since the Soundstage is now apart of the fest. could see myself skipping future MDF's if that will be the new norm, but with as diverse as it's become it's hard to please everybody. it's getting more expensive to go to each year for less bands regardless of wanting to see a few pretty badly (Antaeus mostly). plus Chaos In Tejas has almost all the other bands i want to see. _________________ good users |

This is the first year since the fest started that there will be an entire day with nothing I'm interested in seeing. It'll still be a good time though. |

this years lineup reminds me alot of 2011's. 2010 and 2012 had pretty huge lineups. with 2011 i just had a handful of bands i cared about, and like next years that's why i'm going, because they're exclusive shows. if Chaos in Tejas keeps adding more MDF overflow and interesting metal bands each year, it would become my choice being just the next weekend after MDF and much closer. _________________ good users |

Antaeus right after Aosoth? I would have liked for them to be separated a bit. _________________ Good sellers/traders: metalmac, greenmonster, Transcendence, GoldenBull, Paria

Gotcha, I also thought it was weird that Revenge was playing so early in the day. _________________ Good sellers/traders: metalmac, greenmonster, Transcendence, GoldenBull, Paria

| I would never go to MDF , simply because there are too many people and it would be hard to view the bands. I would hate, being around all that many people , it is just crowded and too expensive for a plane ticket. Also, I just don't get the whole metal party mindset. |
