| Ive always managed to make a backpack work for the weekend as a carry on. You can bring a laptop with you on the plane as well as a ”personal” item for no additional fee (like how a woman can bring a purse + carry on). I don't buy too much merch at fests because I buy so much on a regular basis all the time that there's not much I can't get elsewhere....besides shirts which I always buy. I just roll them up tight in the back pack and its no prob if you pack light. |

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I haven't flown since 2007 and I don't really remember how flying goes. Before that I hadn't flown since 1999 or so. That and I'm really trying to get over a crippling fear of flying for this trip, so the flying part is the biggest issue for me and I have to make sure I have everything in order before I arrive at ABA at 3AM on May 23rd.
Okay, I need advice on airplane to hotel transportation. I've heard the train runs from the airport to close the Sleep/Holiday Inn. Is this true?
I'm really nervous, I never travel alone. _________________

They don't offer a shuttle, just called. I guess I'll just have to cab it. _________________

Cheaper than renting a car for four days. Unless some locals want to help me out
Plus I'm not old enough to rent a car.
Wait is it 24 or 26 to rent a car? I'll be 24 then.
Probably still cheaper to cab it. _________________

I think the age most places is 25. but I also hear that they'll let you rent a car if you're at least 21 and have a credit card, dunno about that since there's probably some extra fees or something you'd have to pay. _________________

I really don't want to check any bags so does anyone have a a suggestion for a carry-on that'll fit my laptop, my headphones (over the ear studio headphones), some clothes, and still leave room for some merch? I don't know how the merch stands operate at MDF but I imagine I'll be able to pick up some LPs and stuff, right? |
You can take a carry-on sized suitcase AND backpack with you on the plane. No need to check any bags. |

Yeah, if your hotel is downtown / inner harbor area just take the train from the airport to downtown and walk the rest. No need for a cab or shuttle. it's easy. If your hotel is not walking distance to the venue, then you screwed up. |

Anyone know if there's ways to safely store a back pack there? It would really suck having to hold my backpack while I'm watching bands... that's the only thing I'm worried about really, which ain't that big of a deal but i'd sure like to know. _________________ "We must secure the extinction of the human race and apocalyptic future for all children" - 14 words. |
