A lil extreme but mostly correct. Underground metal with goatworshipsatan imagery being pumped out by labels today is just as plastic and fabricated as brutal death was for a while during its mini-run of popularity... Collectors just latch onto it because it's got pretty packaging and limitation and inverted crosses/moyen-goatdicks etc. and the rest just follow suit. Not in all cases of course...
For the record, I don't like this avant-speed shit either, but the concept isn't any less/more retarded than the paint by numbers goatcock metal that labels pick up on and release. I really wasn't kidding when I said this should be released on die-hard, because it's just as deserving as half the shit that's out being peddled today... E.G. Not at all.
As I say this though, goatsatandick metal is being turned obsolete for that newer trend of Intelligent Metaphysical Astrological Polydimensional Incantation/The Chasm/Portal-whatever worship metal that is, imo, going to be the most time-consuming and pretentious breed of pre-packaged "this is what the metal market wants" underground metal yet. |

Both new releases safely arrived on Monday. Haven't gotten a chance to spin the Necrocidal Killdeath yet but MNDSBLSTNG was superb and is going to get a lot of listens. It builds up and gets weirder and weirder. The two patches are going to look really rad symmetrical on the back of my vest too. Looking forward to future releases. The Patches got your back.
The term "SHRED"-ing gets thrown around alot nowadays, particularly by recent metal converts (who think its an idiom) and/or indie type neophytes upon whom it is dawning that metal is the best music on earth, but it is also used correctly by died-in-the-wool 'heads who know what it means in the Azagthoth manner or in the VENOM's live album ("Eine Kleine..") usage, and that is, as a METHODOLOGY.
"Shred" is onomatopoetic, that is, it phonemically invokes it's own meaning by simulating that sound ov a muted-string guitar ostinato, usually a triplet, with both sides ov the pick being used, and the meaning which is a specific METHOD ov INSTANT WRITING ov a SOLO MELODIC LINE although it could be additionally chordal (melody is single notes).
It is NOT merely improvisation as some would suggest, it has STRINGENT requirements and rules, mostly tonal, with the majority (NOT minority) ov scales and/or intervals being out-ov-bounds, which is the diff between any metal genre and grindcore (which has NO scalar/tonal requirements).
Why am I going on about this?
Because while MNDLSBLSTNG does indeed get "weirder and weirder" as per your analysis, and while that band is spearheading a microgenre ov speedmetal influenced by one ov the most chaotic and ungoverned genres EVER (NOISECORE), it still has to play by a lot mor rules than it disobeys because it is Heavy Metal and minor scales and artificial harmonics are paramount to our identity. Because as intrepid as our musical explorations may be they must remain metallically INALIENABLE; that's the challenge MNDLSBLSTNG has agreed to meet. MINDLESS or not, our BLASTING is only metallic. Yes, the BLASTING is NOT THRU-KOMPOSED, it is MINDLESS
but
to SHRED is to write a solo on the spot, with the aid ov one's luciferian guides, and to be in MNDLSBLSTNG is to be in a band that is FULL SHRED, in other words ALL PLAYERS are open-channel simultaneously, ALL PLAYERS are LEAD, ALL PLAYERS ARE WRITING DIREKTLY FROM SATAN.

No natural body has a PERFECT circular ridge around it's "equator".
DEATH STARs ALWAYS exhibit a very large very shallow crater observable in that precise proportion to it's overall dimensions, with a diminutiv convexity in the VERY CENTER ov the depression, the pupil in the eye ov a disguised weapons port.
