Sucks that this release got Drakkared. The Crypt would do an infinitely better job with this...

Haha, Drakkared and for the meantime Necroharmoniced as well(as far as ETA goes). Seriously though that sucks.

The worst part is that in the meantime they will saturate the market with at least 1000 copies I'm sure.

So just 500 handnumbered copies is better than having at least double amount available?

I think you are misinterpreting his comment. It would be harder to do his issue after CM sells their copies. Sure, some would buy both but sone of those who bought the CM version may not buy his.

That's pretty fucked up but the reality is that this won't interfere with your version much if your pressing contains the entire discography.
Well, the problem is that there won't be any version from me until 1) Kristian and Plastic Head sort out the legalities, and if that works out in his favor, 2) Kristian eventually finds the time to get me all the materials

Do me a favour and mail Kristian and explain the following: Plastic Head act very aggressive in contract issues irrespective of whether they own it or not- classic big company pulling out the scare tactics in order to make the issue go away. All he has to do is reiterate the no contracts thing, then ask exactly how Plastic Head are paying royalties to the band if there are no contracts explaining what royalties are to be paid- even if a company buys the catalogue from someone else they still have a duty to pay the artist. If they still won't play ball, a legal letter stating the same points is very inexpensive, and I am reasonably sure that will do the trick- i.e produce the imaginary contracts or reliquish the rights.

And if not, then just put out a demos lp!!! Laughing

He is well aware of all of this as he was the one to bring the rights issue to the table in the first place, but now it's a matter of seeing how much time and energy he wants to invest in pursuing it. I sent him the info, now the ball is in his court.

If he would have been interested enough you would probably received the material you needed for this release at this point. So obviously this has never been of any greater importance for him. So I doubt he will do much about this rights issue. Too bad because the Grotesque material is something that deserves to be handled by The Crypt. At one point it's understandable that the members behind a band like this doesn't really care about their old sins anymore but if they agree on a re-release they could atleast show the label some respect by giving them the material they need within a reasonable time. I mean how long does it really have to take? A month, six months, a year, two years?

[quote="sztorm75"]I think Jerry of Detest works on all these CM death metal releases, no? Well, it looks like Kristian's lawyer tried to get in contact with Plastic Head about this some time ago and they just seemingly ignored him and they did it anyway so it's pretty clear how it works

Wow, what dicks. I can semi-understand them ignoring you, but the main guy from the band's legal representation? I hope he goes after them and they have to hand over all the remaining copies of this release. Assholes.
