I bought Sanity Obscure and Dimensions yesterday... both dirt cheap. I've been listening to S.O. all fuckin' day long. Anyone else digging this band?

Picked up the R.E.X. version of Dimensions from a bargain bin probably 15 years ago. Seems no one wanted it even then. I think it's still an interesting listen to this day. Haven't heard that album mentioned in a long time. Those last two more recent albums on Metal Blade really haven't been able to hold my attention for very long. The first three are tops.

I have been enjoying them for years now. My fave one remains Extraction from mortality ...

They sound like a very different band on those albums, but I think Gabriel was a great comeback. I haven't payed much attention to Transhuman yet. I don't own it, so.. I take more time checking other stuff.

sanity obscure is one of my childhood favorites. i remember it being one of the first more 'extreme' or 'obscure' thrash tapes i bought. i'm pretty sure i thought it was death metal then. great album.

I'm a big fan of their first three, with "Dimensions" being my favorite. "Gabriel" was a good comeback, though it needed some editing toward the end of the record. The last album did nothing for me.

I saw them on the Sacrifice and Bolt Thrower tour at G'Willikers in Pennsauken, NJ. Crucifier played that night too. Good show, but I bailed after Sacrifice because the skinheads were doing get out of control.

From what I remember, Sanity Obscure has possibly the only decent version of a U2 song.

Second rate band that was elevated by the ongoing dissolution of thrash at the time.

That cover version is incredible. What is quite odd is the fact its booklet includes this song's lyrics. I thought there are certain legal restrictions when it comes to such issues.

I agree.

Christian egalitarianist humanism and metal are opposite extremes.

Christians, hipsters, and hippies are excluded from metal by spirit/topic.

In that case why does everyone use the term "support the scene"? Ha. ;P

Excellent point.

"Support the scene" is an egalitarian cancer.

"Support good music only" a/k/a elitism is metal \m/
