check this out of you're a fan of herbst 9. maybe even combative alignment. well layered drones with hypnotic rythms. the fourth track is even a bit in the style of arcana's le serpent rouge.

Stalker by Lustmord and Robert Rich is amazing. Its got the oppressive Lustmord cloaked over some slightly more happening and beautiful stuff. Inspired by Tarkovsky's film which I've nae seen. Man it's so good.

Structures from Silence and also Mystic Chords and Sacred Spaces by Steve Roach are both worth getting (The latter is 4 odd hours!)

Ambient 4 is probably Eno's best and it is amazing. Apollo, which he did with a couple of others is really good also. I think 1,2 and 3 are okaaay but not really what I want from this stuff.

SAW 2 by Aphex Twin is really cool and fucked up. Just reminds me of Chris Morris' Jam more often than not so it's sometimes difficult to get lost in my own narrative to it, lol.

I think Irrlicht and Cyborg by Klaus Schulze work too, although they do sometimes veer into heavy organ type stuff. It's more like drone I guess. TD's Zeit also.

Can't go wrong with those 2 Paysage d'hiver ambient albums imo.

Seconding Biosphere and Sleep Research Facility.

I'm gonna have to check out those Disintergration loops cause I've had a few people recommend them by now.
