Reactions to basically everything on this board are ridiculous. I could've sworn we were here to discuss our opinions of music, not to fling shit at each other like monkeys.

There was nothing 3rd (or 2nd) rate about "The Horror." Or their prior EP which I liked equally. I have nothing against a band wanting to evolve, but I don't feel obligated to stick with them if their evolution takes them in directions I don't personally care for.

| I liked The Horror but the one thing that I disliked was how it lacked dynamics and variation. Well, this new track definitely delivered in the dynamics and variation department, haha. I always saw Tribulation as a death metal band that had the potential to be so much more and this was a good taste of what that potential can bring. I enjoyed it and I can't wait to listen to the full album (and see the art/layout)! |

Hey, I really liked the new direction Necrovation took on their new LP, which was quite a departure. This on the other hand is a step in the wrong direction as far as my taste is concerned. From a band with a style like Tribulation I was genuinely hoping to hear more of the romping kinda DM, in the Verminous style.. which they pull off excellently. Oh well...

They must care about some people's feelings to some degree to release their material. Why can't you take the idea that some people might genuinely not like this?
Listened a couple of times and the darkness and intensity that made me enjoy The Horror so much are a bit lacking. If anything it's heading more towards a more faceless sound. Very well played of course, but somehow a bit pedestrian. I'm interested to hear the album though.
I think what someone said about Necrovation is spot on; their second album was certainly a change/progression, but if anything they became darker, more complex and more unique. This seems to be heading the opposite way, towards less challenging/interesting material.
It's silly to judge after one song, but if this track is indicative of the album, it's more like going from Altars of Madness to Domination, rather than to Blessed Are the Sick, as their promo text implied... |

definetly! been listening to it a few times and the initial hesitation is gone.
i'm sure there's faster tracks on there too.
also, vocals sounds a bit like Cronos! alot of reverb. |
