| I think Katatonia have done some pretty interesting albums since their Death/Doom days. What they are doing now is pretty good for a modern rock sound. |

Venom... Cast in stone was not THAT bad, but it's realy only the 3 first albums that works for me. |

Come on! Canīt you see the brilliant shining light of albums such as Passage, Eternal, Reign of Light or Theogonia?
Entombed have released some crap, but they still know how to write classics. |

| Mayhem was the big disappointment for me.Althought the majority of Black Metal Bands unravel after an album or two. |

| Belial (Fin). Everything up to and including "Never Again" was great. Then they released that steaming pile of shit "3," and that was the end of them. |

| Although the later albums don't have the same feel as the s/t, Deicide is still fucking Satanic aggressive. |

So what bands went this way (thread subject) and then came back into the 'accepted' of perfection light ? ...if any ?
The only thing I can think of is Moonspell kinda.
Went into the goth style a little then came back with a slightly heavier album again in Memorial. |

Yeah, I like new Katatonia just as much as old Katatonia. They're easily the best band doing 'that' kind of melancholy rock sound nowadays, as it doesn't come with cringeworthy goth trappings...
Have to agree with Dissection in this thread though. Reinkaos is utter, utter, utter shit. _________________ ANUNG UN RAMA, SANCTI AB JURA
