The only thing I can think of is Moonspell kinda.
Went into the goth style a little then came back with a slightly heavier album again in Memorial. |
Come on!!! Moonspell just plain sucks. Give an ol man a break |
Arm or a leg ? |
I must say you can break the leg, or most preferably the nose. But on the other hand, who breaks bones for Moonspell. _________________

Black Sabbath. can't stand the Dio era and following.

For this I'd say Celtic Frost...they were long written off as of a couple of years ago, but came back really strong with Monotheist .....unlike Venom, whose Metal Black was a pile of Metal Crap. |

Yeah, I like new Katatonia just as much as old Katatonia. They're easily the best band doing 'that' kind of melancholy rock sound nowadays, as it doesn't come with cringeworthy goth trappings...
Have to agree with Dissection in this thread though. Reinkaos is utter, utter, utter shit. |
Agree with Katatonia statement. Great stuff, for the style.
Can't agree with Reinkaos comment though. It's one of the most important heavy metal records in modern times, in my opinion. (You'll notice I called it Heavy Metal instead of Black/Death/??? metal) |

Reinkaos was/is very good record. I think that with a different production it would not get shit at all.
I actually remastered the material with the reverb they used to have and a bit different sound overall and it sounded just like the old albums.
What comes to Katatonia, I think they evolved and aged good. They've been changing through the times, but every record has been a perfect example of current style. |
