He actually sort of resembles the dude from Ulver in a weird way, at least in that pic.

edit:
re: his vocals. I actually really like them.

What's with the hatred for Disma? A shitty band? Hardly. There are much worse Incantation clones out there these days.

The only thing that rubs me wrong about Disma are the upbeat polka-style breakdowns that remind me of Mortician at times. Not that it's a problem, I'm just not really in the mood for that sound most of the time. Is it because they're on Profound Lore?

Really though, Disma isn't that great, but not shitty. I'd rather listen to Funebrarum or pre-Decimate Christendom Incantation.

I'm about 30/70 on what the guy releases myself, but how anyone could not have respect for the label itself is beyond me.... I mean a lot of stuff from him just isn't for me that he puts out, but no hate amirite lads?

Pretty much how I feel about it. He releases a lot of shit I don't like, but then occasionally something great- like Disma.

I'll pick the Disciples of Mockery album over any Incantation album ANY fucking day! Not even a cloneband since 3 of these dudes were part of creating the Incantation sound ... anywho, still looking forward to the new album!

QUOTED FOR TRUTH

I did not care for Disma at all, but I like what they're doing, I'm just not buying into the hype. It's a decent record. I can't get into it, and you nailed the breakdown/groove thingy. And I LOVE Mortician haha.

Enjoy Funebrarum MUCH more.

Agreed.

Disma is ok, but I don't feel the need to go back for more.

"Internet Metalheads" are the WORST.
Suck the dick of the TONS of bands who rip off INCANTATION, yet diss on their newer material and judge how they "look"???

One word - GAYLORDS.

You guys are idiots. Disma doesn't sound ANYTHING like Incantation apart from low tuning and Pillard's vocals. Reminds me more of Crematory's demos than anything else, if comparing every band to another is a must.

Clones are newer and trendier in a teenage genre that rewards novelty.

Spot on.
You seem to have moments of absolute clarity, followed by a few weeks of jaded, belligerent metal psychosis. Laughing Shall we blame it on old age?

most people are idiots. they say they love this, they say they love that, they say they love incantation. whatever.

i've seen incantation a lot because i lived in illinois until 2003. i saw the onward to golgotha lineup (well, minus ronnie deo) play in '94 and i saw the trio with daniel corchado and kyle severn a lot. i've seen incantation be great, and i've seen them be lackluster. incantation aren't always mindblowing, folks.

last time i saw them, at maryland deathfest a few years ago, i thought they were totally boring.

so, you know, some of their albums are great, some aren't. sometimes they kick ass, sometimes they don't. maybe the fact that they don't draw that great all the time has to do with this. food for thought. i know i'm not exactly dying to see them, despite how great some of their albums are.
