Discuss, debate and recommend the finest in dark ambient that there is.

Still a rather new genre for me, yet can vouch for fantastic music of the likes of Yen Pox, Tenhornedbeast, Endura, Atrium Carceri as well as the output of labels like Malignant, Cryo Chamber, Cold Spring, Old Europa Cafe and Cold Meat Industry.

Based on my also pretty limited, but continually expanding, knowledge; I can recommend the following:

Mz. 412
Nordvargr (including his collaborations with Merzbow)
Troum
Zero Kama
Sabled Sun
IRM

Should make for a good start, but I'm very confident there are people here with a far more extensive knowledge than mine!

Anyway.

LUSTMORD is where it all began.

INADE pretty much perfected the genre.

But man oh man that first HOEDH album...

Speaking of Lustmord performed recently along with Chelsea Wolfe, Cult Of Fire and others at the Dark Mofo fest in Hobart. Not far from where I live, last few years it's either been work or drugs that have kept me from going.

If anyone remembers the link to download back issues of Spectrum, they also serve as an excellent resource for finding out about classic Dark Ambient.
