No explanation needed.
I know the first two LP's are gonna stack up the majority of votes here. For a good reason, but IMO, At War With Satan, and Possessed are easily some of the most over looked Venom material out there.
A lot of their best songs are all on the EP's and singles, but I figured the mandatory full lengths would do. |

| Possessed, not only because it was the first Venom album I heard, but along with Show No Mercy, the first Metal album I heard (aside from the obvious MTV Metal bands of the time Twisted Sister, Quiet Riot, Crue, etc) |

| Yeah Possessed is a fucking fantastic album. It's a damn shame that they're reign came to an end after its release. Some of the tracks on Possessed are some of Venom's finest moments. |

I just happened to listed to the first three yesterday and "Welcome to Hell" is my favorite. While "Black Metal" and "At War with Satan" are killer they both have at least one song I always end up skipping. "Welcome to Hell" has no such songs, excellent from start to finish. _________________ Gravemusic.com - My metal site!

They're all great, but I have to go with At War With Satan. Flawless album in every way imo. _________________

"Prime Evil" came after "Possessed" and they were still doing just fine as a band. Best material they ever recorded can be found on "Prime Evil".
As for the original question I have to go with "AWWS". _________________

| I don't really know Possessed -- it is one of those albums that I have just never really given a chance. I probably should, some day. But it is really, really hard to pick between the first three. |

I've always thought the Demolition Man was a great frontman, and of course I agree that Prime Evil is good. _________________

I'd rather listen to Prime Evil over any new "Venom" album.
Metal Black, Hell, and Fallen Angels are all a complete waste of time.
One album I still haven't heard is Cast In Stone... Been meaning to listen to it however. |

Classic VENOM ended after "Posssessed", although I still think "Calm Before the Storm" is a quite good Heavy Metal album.
As I probably said more than once: Impossible to choose between the first two. They are inseparable for me and form a perfect tag-team, similar to the first two albums of Mercyful Fate or Celtic Frost. |

Black Metal is definitely my favorite, although Welcome to Hell is also killer. I didn't really care for At War with Satan or Possessed much, but Prime Evil is killer.
I also really enjoy Cast in Stone. _________________ If you are a false don't marry! Girlfriend is ok but only destructing anus from behind!!! - Fat Dagon
