Having seen both bands live, I'd have to disagree. Very different bands, both are among the best death metal in the world today. Impossible to even compare them. The new Swallowed songs are insane. Can't wait for their album, and Grave Upheaval's is highly anticipated as well. Glad that they've been picked up by NWN!, can't think of a better label for them, especially after seeing YK bang his head to them in Oakland last year.

Some of the DARKEST and most OBSCURE Metal ever.
Very intense and with this hypnotic aura very few bands can reach.
BTW, Abysmal Sounds will re-release their Demo on 12" LP (in 2013 probably).
