Sorry to break the news to you, but KING DIAMOND was obviously NOT playing "Deathcult", so if that makes me a pro life, pro faggots, pro antifa wanker...so be it! _________________ "Slit my eyes, for they'll remember..." |

In the meantime keep supporting real underground events and stop crying when a festival has to call it´s quits due to lack of support from your side...if people prefer to spend their money for big shot events like RockHard open Air or Party San (pro life, pro faggots, pro antifa...nice!!!), then you will destroy the scene you all claim to be a part of... |

How on earth can you compare those festivals with deathkult? I think it's pretty obvious they attract a different kind of metalhead, so claiming a lack of support is a rather ridiculous statement. |

NWN Fest - sold out
Nidrosian Black Mass - sold out faster than Wacken
Prague Death Mass - sold out
...
Deathkult - organizer blames the scene for losing money
Sorry, but it's obvious that there is enough interest in UG festivals.
And those now crying are most probably people who did attend DK.
I always wondered about the way DK is organized.
This years edition: 23 bands - 3 days - 333 tickets for 33€, the rest 45€
Just compared to Hells Pleasure, which also always has some financial issues as far as I know: 19 bands - 2 days - tickets 48€
How should that work out, if you offer the cheapest tickets for one of the 'bigger' (concerning amount of bands and days) festivals of this kind?
The target group for DK is naturally quite small, it attracts people of this forum and the likes of them.
Not really a big chance to get people not liking this music to this fest, unlike all the party tourists at Wacken, PartySan etc. And, you obviously don't want them to get there.
So why those ticket prices?
I'd have paid 60€ for this lineup and I'm pretty sure most people who did attend also would have been there if it had cost more than 50.
You might lose some people, but I can't imagine you'd make less money in the end.
Or just keep the price and make it a 2-day fest. |

On the contrary, it's a smart(-ass) way of distancing oneself from any political extremism. Antifa uses the red star, which is crossed out as well. _________________ What beats global warming? nuclear winter |

Those three listed above have brilliant coherent line-ups (not saying DK lineup is bad), are easily accessible in major cities and perhaps co-incidentally, perhaps crucially, are indoors.
I went to DK in 2012 and had a decent time, but the bastard weather can affect open air shows to a serious degree. Was hard to really get into the likes of Venenum and Svartidaudi under a blazing sun. Its not the bands fault but the atmosphere is incomparable at something like PDM, dark and indoors, better sound etc.
Plus the majority of UG metal heads are 30+. A bed and a shower moves up the priority ahead of 3 hours kip in a tent and brushing your teeth with cheap beer in the morning
I enjoy roughing it at the likes of Hells and Deathkult and the craic can be unbeatable but with many high-quality indoors one-dayers and weekenders to choose from in reachable destinations over Europe you can see why many might choose to skip the open air gig for something more comfortable. |
