Ok, no surprise that this was going to be a failure. Not bad as a movie per se, but just a completely pointless remake without any own accents (if we ignore the "great" idea to drop the whole Mars-setting and morph various characters together).
REKALL is now some sort of Asian bordello, there is absolute NO grotesque humour and the actors are all completely faceless (minus Hal from Malcolm in the Middle as Cohagen, who is brilliant as always).
Colin Farrell just makes his usual "I can look worried with my eyebrows" thing all the time, while Kate Beckinsale uses her huge screentime to just "walk around wild and looking sexy". And if you include Jessica Biel in a movie, please have the decency to show us her boobs. Anything else about her is not interesting.
One point for the funny hommage with the fat lady at the scanner-scene. |

Impossible on nowadays movie standards. Remember Die Hard 4 and how lame it was with some PG13 tag on it? No harsh language or violence as in the previous ones. I just red today that the latest Die Hard has a specified theater edition for UK which has even less violence/harsh language than the normal version. That's gay. Then again the new Die Hard has received such bad reviews that propably not even worth to check out.
And yeah, remakes of old classic is just showing how bad the movie industry has gone to.

Yes, full-blown nudity is a wishful thinking nowadays, but they could've at least made her look a bit more attractive in this movie, her physique is more or less not visible. But well, her character wasn't very attractive in the original too, maybe that was another hommage.
Die Hard 4 wasn't that bad, I think. With no expectations at all, I actually enjoyed it. |

| Picked up a used copy of fight club over the weekend. I never seen this movie. Yeah yeah....im sure im missing out. Hardly ever have time to watch a fucking movie. |

Huh since two months I am running a bar and that means too much work and not enough time for movies but recently I watched :
Seven Psychopats - great,
Django - not bad,
The Paperboy - average but John Cusack as a psycho killer..huh
and still like every new episode of Californication.

Yeah pretty much why I avoided it for the longest time.
My co-worker recently transits to the blu-ray world and he brought along his whole dvd collection. I look at his collection and ask how much he wanted for fight club and he said just $2 bucks so I said ok cool! So If I don't end up liking it I'll just give it to someone or throw it in some donation dumpster. |

Just saw Re-Animator recently myself. Nice mix of horror and comedy, plus physical SFX can't be beat.

The second one, Bride of Re-Animator is well worth your time. Great SFX and dark humor again. |
