This is up on Netflix right now. I wasn't expecting much, something like an indie romantic comedy / "Kick Ass" hybrid. It kind of is, but this flick is also incredibly brutal, almost on the same level as Hobo with a Shotgun, in parts. Lot's of big names in this one too. I was pleasantly surprised.

It was supposed to be 8MM from 1999.

Anyway, can't think of any bad movie Gandolfini took part in. At least not one I saw so far.

Did you see his performance in True Romance? Small role, but its beyond memorable.

Great line in True Romance "You got a lot of heart kid"

Yeah Tony Soprano was born during that scene. True Romance is great.

Just watched The Great Silence again, pretty grim and brutal western by Sergio Corbucci (sp?), starring Kaus Kinski as the main villian. Highly recommended, also jsut watched Kioma. This one was still cool but not in a more ridculous way, the song that narrates the entire movie his great haha.

2001: A Space Odyssey

Made my first foray into blue ray with this masterpiece after reading the books. Ordered Clockwork Orange shortly after, will probably pick up the rest of Kubrick's film soon. I plan to replace only my all time favorite DVDs that I never get tired of watching. Fulci's next...

Just finished rewatching Sopranos. Iíve followed a few tv-series over the past years, but havenít seen even 5% of the amount of movies I used to watch. Have plenty of VHS, mostly copied from rented/borrowed stuff, but Iím just too spoiled with full-HD these days to ever get around watching them. Think Iím too tired of the whole classic exploitation/horror genre to ever bother with it again. All those wasted teenage yearsÖ

Nevertheless, the last few days Iíve seen a number of great movies.

Great performance by Connery, very different from the Bond-movies he did during this time. Unique directing and story telling, not like to any other movie Iíve seen.

The movie Bergman made after The Seventh Seal. Deals with similar themes, beautifully executed dethroning of God and life. A must see, at least if you have good enough subtitles.

Another Bergman feature. Priest suffering from relentless anxiety and religious doubt. Highly recommended!

Alien/s boxset,

That's a good one, I don't care about part 4 at all though. I was fortunate enough to catch the HD version of Alien about a year ago and it was quite an experience, the movie looks like it was made yesterday.

The Blu Ray box comes with the music scores too so that was a big factor.

Hilariously bad.

"The year is 1987. Motorcycle ninjas tighten their grip on Florida's narcotics trade, viciously annihilating anyone who dares move in on their turf. Multi-national martial arts rock band Dragon Sound have had enough, and embark on a roundhouse wreck-wave of crime-crushing justice. When not chasing beach bunnies or performing their hit song "Against the Ninja," Mark (kung-fu master/inspirational speaker Y.K. Kim) and the boys are kicking and chopping at the drug world's smelliest underbelly. It'll take every ounce of their blood and courage, but Dragon Sound can't stop until they've completely destroyed the dealers, the drunk bikers, the kill-crazy ninjas, the middle-aged thugs, the "stupid cocaine"...and the entire MIAMI CONNECTION!!!"

Saw the Conjuring. Fantastic film, far exceeded my expectations.

A modern horror film that I can finally say is worth the hype.

I don't like Michael Douglas so much, but "Falling Down" is a masterpiece! Yesterday watched "The Jacket" - not bad, not great either.
