Another view for "The Blair Witch Project"
Call me what you want, but I've always thought that the scene where they hear somebody walking around their camp at night was one of the creepiest scenes in horror.

Also, I recently watched the conjuring. Cool movie, although some of the scenes were pretty silly.

I really like the atmosphere of that movie.

I got a VHS screener of BWP before the hype or the theatrical release and the movie as a whole creeped the hell out of me. I think it worked much better in a darkened living room.

I liked "Bug" enough in the cinema to buy it, great character study with terrific acting and lots of claustrophobic tension. Friedkin collaborated with writer Tracy Letts last year for "Killer Joe" which was also pretty damned good.

Today I bought the bluray of "Star Trek: Into Darkness." I enjoyed it quite a bit in the cinema and am stoked to have another disc with 7.1 audio, those seem to be fairly rare as the majority seem to ship with 5.1. I want to use all my speakers dammit!

Same here. Really liked The Conjuring and overall creepiness of it.

Lorraine Warren actually does events at her home in Connecticut where you can listen to her speak for a bit and get a tour of the "Occult Museum" in her home. The same one featured in the movie. Kind of cool. I live in Long Island and was thinking of going but I don't know if I will.

Went to see "Riddick" at the Imax, and the movie shat the bed about 1/3 of the way through. I wasn't too bummed. I got two free passes as a result, so now I don't have to pay to see that Metallica abortion in a few weeks.

Watched "The place beyond the pines" and "Lawless" and both were really shitty.

Really?

Lawless wasn't as good as The Proposition, but it was pretty rad.

Just watched the Chinese WWII film "Devils on the Doorstep," and the film "Once Were Warriors." Very different, but both very dark!
