Fun movies. Second one is way better than the first.

I've been monitoring this since pre-production and get a fair amount of email subscriptions that have kept my boner for this one going....should be amazing. Eggers is, much like Lanthimos as one example, a perfectionist in detail and authenticity, atmosphere and settings with his period piece material. The fact that he went old school atmosphere, only wants it viewed on real film, and the black and white aesthetics is not unlike his detail in The VVitch, and if he ventured away from this type of work, I'd be more more surprised. He was rumored to have been involved with a Nosferatu remake, and this slid in front of it suddenly a few years back, so not sure of that status. He's just a director that I check in on, on imdb, every few months. Pattinson is also an actor making all the right moves the last few years [High Life, The Rover, Good Time], all exceptional.

Really looking forward to The Lighthouse. Even just that one image alone gets me excited.

I'm literally about to do the same. I'm hearing III kicks ass!

For folks looking forward to The Lighthouse, The Vanishing was a good, low-key, very bleak, lighthouse-related movie. Watched it without any foreknowledge and enjoyed it quite a bit.

Mid 90's. It wanted to be Kids with more of an emphasis on skating instead of rape. There was no story and things ended exactly as they began. Better off just watching old skate videos.

I hear that the body count in III is over the top, which is exactly what I'm looking for

Deep Red, I know this is regarded as Argento's best work, I prefer Suspiria & Phenomena over this , maybe it's because I like supernatural horror more than detective thrillers. It is a good movie though and with a great soundtrack and I assume that I would have to delve into the genre of Italian detective/horror films to appreciate this fully.

Pup's (1999) I found this on youtube, a young Mischa Barton & her ritalin boyfriend rob a bank. A very 90's film, not bad.

I noticed there's a lot of Stephen King mini-series on youtube so I've been downloading them, it's going to take months to watch these.

That's the one with Burt Reynolds playing the cop, right? It was on TV all the fucking time when I was about 13/14. I don't think I ever watched it from start to finish, but if you add all the bits, I must've seen it like 10 times.

That's correct, Burt Reynolds plays the cop.

Not a movie, but I don't know where else to say - watch Chernobyl! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7366338/

The best mini TV show I've ever seen.

Yeah, Chernobyl is excellent on all levels. What a fucking nightmare. Too bad there are only 5 episodes total.

So good. I was going to cancel HBO after the GOT finale but Chernobyl hooked me for an extra month.
