I've watched a lot of old James Bond movies the last days.
From Russia With Love
Goldfinger
You Only Live Twice
and For Your Eyes Only
I gotta say, Sean Connery is the best. _________________ Todays modern science is your modern religion. |

Bronson (2008). Pretty wild movie based on the life of "Britain's most violent prisoner," good visual style and cool soundtrack. I was expecting the violence to be more over the top and gory, though. I can't help but lump this movie in with Chopper and A Clockwork Orange... I get the feeling the director took a lot of direct inspiration from Clockwork like the extensive use of classical music, Tom Hardy's performance being similar to Malcolm McDowell's, and just the general feel and themes. I enjoyed it.
Shut Up Little Man! (2011). Decent documentary about a series of secretly recorded audio tapes of two drunken foul-mouthed roommates fighting and arguing that were spread via tape trading in the 90s. Some funny stuff but all in all I found the movie to be just above average. Not mind blowing but pretty cool. Made me want to get some of those tapes, though, that's for sure. |

| "Let's scare Jessica to death" and "Jennifer". Both utterly creepy and disturbing in a beautifully Italian:esque fashion. |

^^^ Only got around to seeing that recently as well, quite disappointed in it. Whilst not meant to be a bio-pic of any criminal family in particular, the characters were not scumbag-y enough for my liking.
Suffers from 'Australian-indie-film' syndrome as well with lots of meandering shots of nothing in particular in an attempt to be 'arty'.
Give me 'Blue Murder' for a depiction of Aussie crime. |

I picked up Jean-Luc Godard's Weekend on DVD. Seriously fucked up. I found the last scene hilarious and truly repulsive at the same time. Any filmmaker that can do that as effective as he did is a-okay in my book.
