Binged Netflix D A R K. Really enjoyed it. Had a couple nods to Kreator. And one character was wearing what looked like a Morbid t-shirt in what was supposed to be 86. Mustve had an ear to the underground.

Better than when they put a BEHEMOTH poster in the movie REGRESSION, Supposedly taking place in the eighties?

i know things are more expensive in EUR than US for computers, but that's insane. Other than maybe putting 3 1080s into it, I can't really imagine a system build here coming over $2500 that isn't actually a production workstation or server.

I could have built a system for 1500 EUR, but this is the lowest I could go with a build made to last. Here's the specs, I tried to save money with the memory (16 instead of 32 Gb), and went with a good quality fast TN panel monitor instead of IPS. Curious to know how much cheaper a setup like this would be in the US..

Gigabyte GA-Z270-GAMING-K3 - 149,00 €
Fractal Design FD-CA-DEF-R5-BKO - 110,90 €
Creative Sound Blaster Z - 99,00 €
Corsair 750W RM750 - 136,90 €
GeForce GTX 1080 Windforce OC, 8GB GDDR5X - 619,00 €
Kaby Lake i7-7700K, LGA1151, 4.2GHz, 8MB, Boxed - 380,00 €
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - 37,90 €
Samsung 250GB 850 EVO SSD - 102,90 €
Samsung 500GB 850 EVO SSD - 179,90 €
Asus DRW-24D5MT - 19,00 €
Kingston 16GB (2x8GB) Hyper X Fury, DDR4 2666MHz, CL16 - 169,00 €
BenQ 24" ZOWIE XL2411, 144Hz - 299,00 €

2 302,50 €

if I matched everything right (as close as I could)
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HYjc3F

looks like 1825.26 Euro or so.

I didn't realize you originally meant including a monitor when you said that price. Still, purchasing power on PC stuff here, I could get 2 video cards and the same rig otherwise (or buy much larger RAM and SSD)

a nice rig, don't get me wrong. Just a shame it costs you so much more!

Of course, you get a lot of nice htings we don't. hah.

that's about 26% difference, which minus 19% for VAT (is that right?) means that there's a 7% non governmental price difference?

Did anyone order Suspiria from Synapse Films? The steel books are starting to ship. I called today & was surprised it's not sold out yet. Deep Discount & Diabolik DVD have them up but ordering direct is a little cheaper. You just have to call. Details are on their site.

I ordered months ago and am waiting impatiently. 50 bucks is the most I have ever spent on a single movie Smile

I tried to resist & just wait for the bare bones edition next year but I gave in.
I did order Tenebrae from them & that was pretty pricey.

Over on the blu-ray.com forum, a lot of people have posted they are receiving shipping notifications. Synapse told me my copy would ship "tomorrow".

Why the hell was the mid season finale of The Walking Dead so dark? I mean literally, it was like the lighting guys took a week off. I couldn't even always tell which characters were on screen. Which person might this indiscernible dark blob be? Ezekiel? Negan in his black leather jacket was nearly reduced to a disembodied head with a flying baseball bat. I had to check if my TV calibration settings were still in order.

I think I figured what roughly happened, but where everything happened and some details and eh... I don't know. Someone got shot I think. Fuck knows who.

Haha. I had to change my tv settings to see what the shit was going on.

SPOILER

Hope Carl dies too. But they'll drag it out like they have before. Never liked the little cunt.

It's sorta like a 1980s docu-styled version of The Road if you've never seen it

Oh yeah THREADS is a classic of nihilistic cinema, cannot believe this was put on national TV if I am not mistaken. Must have spawned a few paranoia and depression fits... More recently, the movie THE DIVIDE by our national Xavier Gens was a quite good depiction of a possible future... Seeing Michael Eklund transform into a GG ALLIN post apocalyptic reincarnation is something to be seen...

couple of times I doubled billed it w/ Come And See for date nights. Didn't go down too well & neither did the ladies after sitting through it!

I do believe this is the first time its being released on something other than vhs in the US. The Divide looks like a perfect feel good romp alright

Not really, but the scenes with Snoke (Darth Plagueis?) are good.
