I loved The Somberlain a ton. I liked the compilation "The Past Is Alive." And while I liked SOTLB, Im not as high on it as most other metal heads. _________________ People I want to kill: Russell Brand....fucking annoying. |

i met jon in TJ when the played
we snuck back stage and hung out with the band for about 3 or 4 hours
more than likely we annoyed the shit out of them
surprisingly jon turned down the maybe dozen beers we tried to buy him
he was definitely a cool guy and super down to earth
he was also unintentionally comical about music
one of us asks "so what are your influences.. classical etc?"
jon says "metal"
thats it.. no discussion afterwards about it
one of us asks "what kind of equipment do you use to get that sound?"
jon says "metal zone"
all with a straight face and deep voice
also with absolutely no follow up discussion about it

Hearing the song "Night's Blood" for the first time changed my entire musical existence. I met Jon for a minute on the street in Sweden post-murder but pre-arrest. Also my mom once talked to him on the phone. _________________ Cheap thrills: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=114166081967523&1&index=0 |

That's how I was with Where Dead Angels Lie, but I think that goes for most people who are fans really. Such a fucking amazing songwriter.
Also, that last bit about your mom seems totally random. How did that happen, if I may ask? |

Storm of the Light's Bane & The Somberlain are the best music for winter, in the end of the fall I'll turn into them every year.
Where Dead Angels Lie is one of my favorite songs ever. |

You can trust on that article. Its based on official police & court documents and often they are written by officers who have investigated the case. I've read it in finnish book "Pohjolan Poliisi Kertoo", the book that is sponsored by nordic policeforces. That article is from same book, just made for swedish market.
Of course there can be something that police understrood wrong or some things been left out (fex. rumours or things that police didnt found out in investigations but are nowadays known) But one cant say are those legends true or not. _________________ Mors fennico more |

| Fuck DISSECTION, all their related projects, all bands influenced by them, their fans (especially those who "knew personally" Jon Nödtveidt) and last but not least this thread. |

I love everything Dissection have done and it's probably my favourite band ever. And all the "I'm also an anti-kosmik satanist cuz I say so on my facebook" kids should kill themselves. (just a side note)
There is plenty to read/watch about the murder, in Sweden whenever a queer guy gets killed they declare Sweden a state of emergency and have "queeer history month" in every school. So they did a lot of shit about this. All of them extremely ridiculous of course...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLVkd59lwWc&feature=related as an example. It's in swedish but it said something about a translation in the description.
Wont even start by saying which are my fav songs, because it would be one hell of a list.

Oh, I am thoroughly enjoying reading posts from people who actually bothers to be upset that someone likes this band. Your life must be really hard. _________________ Todays modern science is your modern religion. |

While I do agree they're probably overrated and their fans are more often than not on the autistic side of things (enough evidence of that in this very same thread), they have at least one truly groundbreaking album. Yeah that one.
Also agreed on the Rebirth.. dvd, amazing live show. WIsh I could read Swedish to understand that .pdf text _________________ Permabanned |

@ NK7:
I just wrote that to insult the fanboys here and their desperate need to create a thread about this band every fucking week.
And it worked out. |
