Ok, so everyone has been asking about this so here is the current news, and you won't like it. Part of the delay was due to the fact that I was licensing it directly from Kristian Wahlin as he owns all rights. There was never a signed contract between Grotesque and BLACK SUN RECORDS, hence, when Plastic head bought Black Sun's back catalog, they ASSUMED they owned all those releases, even though there was never an officially signed contract. We pointed that out to them as well which they chose to ignore.

To make a long story short, Plastic Head, the big shots they are still feel they own Grotesque even without a signed contract with the band, so they licensed the vinyl to Century Media. Check it out: - http://piratespress.com/rotw/?p=781. Just scroll down a bit. So now I would assume that Kristian will have to take legal actions to get this sorted out, but who knows. All I know is that it has royally fucked my plans for it.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the support, but I don't plan on moving forward with anything until the legal issues get sorted out, and who knows if and when that will happen. The worst part is that in the meantime they will saturate the market with at least 1000 copies I'm sure.

So wait - not only did they undercut you to do a cheaper, crappier release, but they also did (apparently) a straight vinyl issue of "In the Embrace of Evil" without any of the other Grotesque material (demos, etc.)?

This is fucking lame in every possible way.

I'll go back to hoping for that complete Grotesque retrospective set on vinyl and CD both, which I guess now won't appear until 2018. Sigh. What a shitty situation.
