I don't know if this has been discussed before, but I found out that there was a picture under the (black) tray, showing an opened up rat. I was wondering if all the copies have a black tray and this picture underneath, if it was a conscious choice to "hide it"?
Or maybe I just bought a traded copy, and the original CD is supposed to have a transparent tray?
Do you guys know of bands "hiding" parts of artwork like that?

I remember Legion of Doom glued sunwheels and the statement "...WHOEVER SO-CALLED CHRISTIAN IS A FUCKING JEW..." in the booklet of the first edition of ''Kingdom of Endless Darkness''. Originally the booklet wasn't glued but back then ''the scene'' got butthurt which led the band to such a move.

| Katatonia Viva Emptiness had some hidden back cover under a black tray, and it came like this when you bought it, it did not came with a clear case. But there was something under the tray. Some dumb words about cumshots or something. |

The funny thing is that I remember when the clear tray was a novelty. I have a clear memory of realizing that my Mortiis CDs had printed tray cards and eagerly looking underneath the black trays. Obviously the distro I got them off only had black in stock in those days!
Blimey, I'm starting to sound like Marcos now (if he'd have been tasteless enough to buy Mortiis CDs). Those were the days etc etc.
That Cultes Des Ghoules thing is naff as hell though. I mean - you're so scary you abuse a dead rat??? Roll over Polish Black Metal and tell Quorthon the news! |
