Around 2000-2003 I remember a big Ildjarn hype. I got my one and only Ildjarn release from NAP as a free extra with the Emperor 7" in the mid 1990s and honest to fuck, I couldn't even give that thing away until around 2003 when i sold it for €50 on the FMP board. _________________

| As opposed to what some may think here, Ildjarn is not doing this for money at all. That made me chuckle. The guy is still the most minimalistic and unmaterialistic person in Scandinavia (with the exception of Pentti Linkola), trust me. It just so happened that the opportunity to re-release the albums with more appropriate artwork arose. |

Ildjarn was pretty much the least popular of the old bands until that resurrection.
However, those of us who have enjoyed it since the mid-1990s have not wavered in our belief that it's good music.
Popularity of bands go through cycles. For a long time, Beherit and Blasphemy were not seen as favorable either. _________________ http://www.deathmetal.org/

This sounds interesting. Eisenton just post a news about rereleasing some Ildjarn stuff on CD and Vinyl with noble design.
Heres the posting:
| Quote: | Ildjarn re-issue pact
We are proud to announce that we are currently working closely with Ildjarn on resurrecting all early works from the vaults under CD and vinyl format during 2013. These re-releases will appear in a conceptual way, feature new but matching artwork, noble package and surely work as ultimate editions of these recordings. All music will be taken from the original master sources. Some official merchandise is also in the works.
Records to appear sooner or later:
Norse
Svartfrad
Seven harmonies of unknown truths
Minnesjord
Ildjarn 93
More news and release details to be revealed soon. Stay tuned, if you dare. |
