Yep. I think the "digital first" thing is also like a pre-order, funding the full releases with early adopters. _________________ DEATH METAL UNDERGROUND |

I just got a copy of 'Ildjarn Is Dead' very cheap from Mikko at Freak Animal records, think he had more copies as well if anyone is interested. |

Then? Or now?
If the former, where was the hype? Apart from reviews in a few zines, never saw any mention of them in Terrorizer, etc. Never saw any of the releases advertised.
As for now, sure there is more attention, but well deserved given the number of bands emulating the unique style/sound. |

Ildjarn teaches kids?! Has he had a reawakening or something?
If you've read his manifesto you know he's as anti-social as they come, among other things. |

Teach children to worship Satan
If thats true, sounds like all the misanthropic talk was just young shy man's ranting before growing a pair and getting a damn job. Either way, not interested, Ildjarn is dead RIP 2005. Unless there will be shitty comeback album, i hope not. |

I also learned that he really likes remote-control planes. _________________

Never got into Ildjarn when I gave em a shot a few years back. My tastes may have (d)evolved since then though, so maybe I'd dig it more now
That being said if anybody wants to sell me their copy of the Sort Vokter LP shoot me a PM. I prefer to buy from within the USA. |

I am pretty sure it was less the "life-long interest in underground extreme Metal", but rather the prices charged/paid for Ildjarn-records nowadays, that got SOM into doing the re-releases. Hopefully, their expectation to make some $$$ on Ildjarn will fall flat, though.
As soon as this is not a "rare collectors item" anylonger, but becomes widely available, a lot of people will loose interest in it. How many people are really into "Lo-Fi Black Metal" of the kind Ildjarn used to play? Not many during the 1990ties, so much can be said. |
art school punks might buy them, there were quite a few bands started by art school punks and hipsters a few years ago playing that type of stuff. |
too bad Ildjarn would probably piss on those types of people. _________________ my records
