Vinyl is more gratifying than CDs or tapes.

Whatever I find first out of cds, vinyl or tapes. If it's an album that I've liked for a long time and I know that it's going to get played forever then cd.

I prefer vinyl, but buy plenty of CD's as well since I get a lot of my music listening done in the car. I'm also more willing to take a chance on CD's for bands that I'm not familiar with due to the super low prices from NWN, Dark Descent, HHR, Planet Metal etc. If I like it, then I get the vinyl as well.

Prefer vinyls. But I must admit I probably listen to mp3, more than lp`s, even thoug I try to spin vinyls every day. I dont bother putting on an LP if Im only gonna sit in front of the computer and do other stuff as well, mp3 is more suited for that. Vinyl is for dedicated listening.

If I dont find a release digitally, or if its one of my favorite bands/or there is no vinyl to get, I buy the cd, but I just rip it to my computer and then its stuck on the shelves.

I started listening to music when the CD was already widespread but I soon got hooked on vinyl and tapes. And I still am.

Eventhough I probably listen to CD's and MP3 more. CD's in the car and MP3/youtube at work. But vinyl and tape is for -as someone called it- dedicated listening.

CDs.

Just a practical media. Keeps the benefits of vinyl, such as booklet with lyrics, pictures and art intact. Plus great sound that I can listen to in my car or other places when I'm out.

all formats have their pros and cons. but if you forget about money, your car, youtube, how lazy you are to flip the record from side A to side B.. Vinyl is superior.

as someone who grew up buying tapes because they were the cheapest option for a kid in the late 80s/early 90s, I can't for the life of me understand why they have the status they have these days. fucking horrible format...rubbish sound, extremely precarious.

however, I don't want my music collection sat on a hard drive and I still enjoy hunting stuff down on a physical format. way more satisfying. in an ideal world where I had enough time, money and space I'd choose vinyl. but I don't, so CDs it is.

of course i knew vinyl would win this poll, but i picked tapes. love how durable they are, and for the music that i mostly buy and listen to (noise, raw bm), i think it sounds the best.

I'm working on getting rid of every tape I own. I fucking hate tapes. They were total shit in 1991 and they are total shit now. Any format that can actually get digested by the player...well, that's about it for me.
I'm buying more CDs lately too since I find no real reason to have every single thing I like on wax. But if I really love an album, and especially if the artwork is great, I will take a nice LP release every time.

Vinyl. Buying Cds makes me feel like I'm throwing my money away. I for one cannot create wax records in my room w/ files downloaded from the internet.

what

When I was a kid I would buy CDs of anything that peaked my interest. Now that I have an actual income of my own it is hard to justify spending money on something that I can effortlessly obtain for free via the internet. Dodsengel's Imperator was the first CD I had purchased in years.
