When it comes to turntables, generally the higher end you go the less features it has. The best turntables are usually just a needle on a string and you have to spin the record on your finger _________________ Ignivomous merch: abaddon_963[at]hotmail.com

wow, did not know that. seems so rudimentary for such a high end piece of equipment... |
Probably because the higher up you go, the less parts are used to ensure shorter signal path and less that can "go wrong" essentially.... |
makes enough sense |
A friend of mine has a really expensive record player that can't play 45RPM records, he basically has to take the whole thing apart to play them. Ridiculous.
I use Slipmats, no problem with static, since I use an antistatic tincture to clean my records, but sometimes records start to drone out and I have to remove the Slipmat. _________________ Geißel des Fleisches - Bis aufs Blut gequält |

There's a 33 vs 45 switch that you can buy for most TT. _________________ Your opinion is as insignificant as your existence.

Is it a separate pulley he has to put the belt onto, in order to change the gear ratio? |

| Some of the anti-static mats are just okay. Felt mats are bottom barrel and should be killed. Cork is a nice change for the moment. I've noticed that the typical rubber mats can leave a circular residue on the vinyl. |

Pro - One came free with a NWN die-hard.
Con - It doesn't work as a pillow case. |
