The thrash resurgence of the past couple years has made me subconsciencely avoid most new thrash bands. I didnt realize this until recently, im sure theres newer bands out there that are good, but i feel like im un aware of them. im looking for recommendations of current bands that have a sound like Possesed, Dark Angel, etc, or even newer bands, like Nocturnal, Force of Darkness etc, that have a similar sound to before thrash blew up and became commercialized the first time in the eighties. please dont mention any old bands unless youre sure theyre so obscure no one could have possibly heard of them. Thanx in advance!
Ps, please no happy stuff (most current American thrash)
no MPDS fashion show stuff. _________________

I don't know how obscure you mean, but here's literally everybody from the active bands that I like:
Sauron (US), Nocturnal (Ger), Force of Darkness of course, Hellish Crossfire, Attacker Bloody Axe (NWN has their EP in stock), Besieged (Can) (very similar to early Sepultura, still waiting on their debut album), Crucified Mortals, Crucifier (Grc), Invocation War, Lethal (Swe) (a little lightweight but they write very catchy songs), Witching Hour (Ger), Nocturnal Graves. That might be about it - I do listen to other new thrash bands also but not in this vein, they are more Bay Area-style. _________________

Great, thanx guys, I didn't expect such a quick response. Definitely some good ones in those lists I'll check out right now. Before anyone else mentions Nocturnal Graves, Satans Cross is already one of my favorites. And yes, I've heard of Toxic Holocaust. _________________

Eliminator!
Still very unknown band from Radevormwald - Germany!
They're playing an extremely aggressive mixture of Speed and Thrash Metal.
Totally honest guys, no trends here.
Except that I think they could shorten some of their songs to avoid any boredom, it's one of the most killing Thrash bands from Germany today, and the guys behind are killer, too. So check them out, if you like relentless bands like Razor, old Kreator, Dark Angel or (when it comes to newer bands) Hellish Crossfire! Intense vocals!

Invocation war is exactly what im talking about. i guess the early South American style sounds more sincere to me in most cases. _________________

accüsed 'martha splatterhead' 12" + 'return of martha...' 12"
i guess none of the two are pure thrash, you decide. |
I thought The Accüsed are pretty widely known _________________ Good/Bad traders list
