After 5 spins I can easily state this is their bleakest, most mature and, therefore, best stuff to date. Don't expect more gallows humour nor classic horror intros, only sludgy misery and an overdose of Repulsion-drenched death metal. The 8th track "Tanatorio" is nothing more than a pure nihilistic Winter/Corrupted wormfeast...

Fully agreed, listened to it repeatedly yesterday and seems like they finally topped Trono de Huesos for me! Fucking brilliant album! The production is also spot on this time.
Speaking of horror intros, they do open the album with that City of the Living Dead riff and it kills.  (I think they used it before too as an intro bass line...)

Really? I love Mundo Cripta, that album sounds perfect. Maybe it's a bit "brighter" than other releases, but anyway the best one along with 'Trono de huesos' for me, pretty much because the incredible sound. |
