| Tara for me, but The Sun... is a very close second. New stuff is good, but not great like the old lineups. |

The Sun of Tiphareth for me, although I like all older Absu albums. Tara is probably my second favorite. The latest one was a nice surprise, definitely not as good as the old stuff, but still, remarkably decent. _________________ Sic transit gloria mundi |

| Sun and Barathrum would be my favourites. The only album I don't really like was the last one I found it very hard to get into. |

almost impossible to pick one up: different eras, all masterpieces.
my vote goes to Barathrum because i got into Absu with this album, but TARA is most likely THE best album of all times considering both musical and lyrical/conceptual sides. nearest thing to perfection i can think of in extreme music. No one can match it, especially orthodox crap and wikipedia occultists.
honorable mention to the MLP "in the eyes of Ioldànach": flawless. 4 songs, 4 masterpieces=perfection.
the starter of this thread does not own the rights to exclude it from the poll (don't care about "it is not an album" argument). _________________

Couldn't decide the first four are all great classics, Barathrum for the varied occult death metal album it is and the subsequent albums for being Bathory influenced thrashy yet epic classics of American black metal. Tara is definitely the most violent but it lacks the epic nature of the two prior albums. I'll have to go with The Sun of Tiphareth I guess. _________________

| Tara, hands down for me. I liked the mellotron on the new LP but all in all it was a little bland. |

Correct. I lean heavily towards Tiphareth, but the Ioldanach ep is surely one of their best releases |

Indeed. Abzu is very decent I think, and for their old stuff, really enjoy The Temples of Offal a lot.
Great and consistent band. |

First five releases (I'm including the Ioldanach 12" here) are absolute milestones, impossible to pick one over the others. Absu/Apzu are solid but definitely sub par if compared to those early masterpieces. _________________ Thread derailed

Interested in trading a dub of Apokalypsimz for a dub of Purpurearagotamiceps?
