I bought Dusk when it came out after reading numerous sources jacking off to this band calling them the "finest" bm band on the planet at the time. I was pretty dissapointed with it and havent been interested since. Blows my mind that people pay any attention to them whatsoever anymore.
Also saw them live at an Ozzfest. The noobs in the crowd described them as "Dude its like Marilyn Manson playing death metal" I kinda agree. _________________ People I want to kill: Russell Brand....fucking annoying. |

I have no idea about the recent material, but I'd say comparing the older stuff to Marilyn Mason is rather ignorant. You might call it "shitty symphonic Black Metal", but Industrial Rock it is not. The only thing these two bands share is the same retarded hot topic audience. _________________ http://www.dissectionforum.dk/ |

| The new album isn't even close to Cruelty, but autothrall is only one step up from down syndrome anyway. I haven't heard Godspeed or Darkly whatever, so I can't compare it to those, but it's really stripped down. There's really none of that gothic atmosphere left. Lots of heavy metal riffing and Dani's "clean" vocals with little emphasis on keyboards. It's not bad, but there's no real standouts. |

I believe it was more in reference to their stage show and shock rock sensibilities. Keep in mind this was Ozzfest so the Hot Topic crowd was in full force and Id say its doubtful that any had ever heard any black metal at that point. _________________ People I want to kill: Russell Brand....fucking annoying. |

It is a chain of store where commercialized little evil shit go to buy their chain wallets, big name band shirts, etc. The whoring of metal and the selling of wares for the wannabe little shits (ha, that could be a dictionary definition for it). _________________ Abysmal Lord |

I still really enjoy Principle of Evil... and Vempire. I also think the early demos are some of the best stuff to come out of the UK in the early 90s. I'd have voted for them over Principle if they were included in the poll.
By the time Dusk... came out I had discovered stuff like Impaled Nazarene and Bestial Warlust, so the "gothic" sound that became even more of the focus on Dusk... just rubbed me the wrong way and I had a complete disconnect with the band at that point. _________________ If you are a false don't marry! I remember when I was 15 and I barely knew shit about black metal... but sill listened to lots of grind and death metal. I bought a cradle of filth - dusk her embrace or whatever that albums called, in the used section at a local record store cause I heard it was their best one, and somebody had recommended them. I listened to it for part of the day then immediatly went to sell it back to the store, they said they'd only take it for like a dollar which was like 1/6th what I paid for it and just took the deal. So even then not knowing shit about black metal or that band and even still being extremly impressionable I STILL thought it was total crap upon listening to it! Even so much that I got rid of it for a fraction of what I paid! True story. _________________ "We must secure the extinction of the human race and apocalyptic future for all children" - 14 words. |

Their death metal demos are killer. I think I made a thread on here about them and an original member said a vinyl compilation may happen. Hoping for that. Haven't listened to anything past the debut album in years. _________________ #NuclearWarMeow |

Saw them live on the first full US tour (not US appearance) I think.
Poison Idea and Nile opened... as did God Forbid. (Oregon).
Never smelled so much perfume and cologne at a concert in my life. |

I don't think I even want to know what that is.
He also did a BBC doc years back where some mother of a fan went around with them on tour. he acted pretty hard in that one. Laughable. |
I remember this documentary. People from UK can't take this band seriously. They started off OK but...after all I got rid of all their CDs which worth only a few pence and gave away to some charity shops too including Christian Aid for good cause.
