Anyone has any news of that Cruelty and the beast remix? Goddamn how I hate that drum sound, at first song one cant hear is that bass or snare hit.

And yeah, that new record is great. Something between Cruelty and the Midian.

Postponed to 2018 (February-March) to coincide with the 20th year anniversary.

Quote:
"Having already started to undertake the project, it’s now been put back until 2018 so that the re-release will correspond with the albums 20th anniversary. “It’s going to be great because it’s an amazing album, but the drum sound sucked and everything had to be built on top of that!” The album is going to be re-mixed and mastered but Dani insists that there are no changes in the overall tone or mood of the album. “We haven’t stripped it bare to just the audio files, it’s still got all the atmosphere but we’ve just started with the drums and worked our way up. It just sounds phenomenally bigger and better. It’s like labouring down a bridge, you can’t put too much weight on it. We’re bolstering it up and we’ve already done a couple of mixes which sound fantastic. We’re also going to throw ‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’ into that mix as well as a bonus track.”

Thanks! And fukking knew it they do another 20th anniversary album of it. At first (before release of 20th anniversary Dusk...) it was almost ready, but now they they are moving the schedule. Nice marketing strategy. Whats wrong with 18th or 19th anniversaries?

We can only hope that the end product will be worth the additional time and marketing potential.

I bet it harkens back to the Cruelty days.

Or a 16th anniversary, like when the girls ripen...

First time? Bathory Aria live.

They didn't quite get a few of the riffs right, but still... they're channeling Stuart Anstis' work. Reminds me that the 20th anniversary year of Cruelty draws nearer by the day.

That Bathory Aria live sounds surprisingly good. CoF should join the trend and play those classic 90s albums in their entirety.
COF IS BEST, as we used to say in the nineties while wearing XXL longsleeves.

Are they playing in some shitty disco at cruise between Helsinki and Tallinn?

Back to small venues I guess. Also, watched their recent live performance of Beneath The Howling Stars and they entirely nailed that one.

The band has been a shadow of themselves since Cruelty and the Beast. Fame can only last so long without proper sustenance.

Principle of Evil Made Flesh is only COF album that doesn't totally fucking suck and even that album is nothing special. You can hear their old school death metal influences on their first album and it's at least listenable, but there's countless releases from that era in both black and death metal that piss and shit all over Principle.

I wouldn't say Dani is the worst, there is worse out there, but yeah, he's pretty fucking bad.

Listened to the new album on Spotify yesterday. Sounds great! Hammer of the Witches was also great. A bit technical sometimes, but still great!
