I've always considered this band to be Gothic Metal, due to the lyrics, overall atmosphere and imagery, even if they're more on the extreme side of metal.
They did pretty well for themselves. I enjoy most of their albums, but their last 3 or 4 sucked big time, so uninspired. |

There you go mate. Knock yourself out

That looks garbage. Anyone have an idea if the sound at least makes up for it? |
Their "UK" bootlegs always look like shit but have GREAT sound. |
Cheers, might pick this up at some point then. But yes, it looks shitter than the band's later digital painting covers. |
I'll let you guys know when it arrives. I love how shitty the production of these demos sound. Can't wait. |

That is no surprise, as Dimmu Borgir actually WAS the way better band. |

I tend to disagree there. Stormblast and Enthrone were decent, but as a whole I always liked Cradle better since they're more on the heavy metal side of things if compared to that annoying orchestral-symphonic-goth thing that DB do. _________________ Permabanned |

Yes, musically they were never that close to compare anyway (besides the heavy use of keyboards), it's only because they were both successful. Matter of taste, obviously.
But yes, the hilarious image doesn't deny the fact that CoF were really good musicians (only know the first four albums of them), probably even the better ones than DB (technically speaking, not songwriting-wise). |

I listened to Damnation and Nymphetamine last year again and they were not all bad apart from being bloated as hell with filler. Kind of feels like a chore waiting for the better tracks to show up once in a while.
Just listening to Vempire. 38 minutes well spent! _________________ §:-«l |

I have at least two weird bootlegs with old demo stuff. Can't remember how comprehensive they are as demo collections, but I don't think anything official ever came out. Man, this band has been bootlegged almost as extensively as... Mayhem??
The album is Chase The Dragon (1982) by the masters of english prog rock, Magnum. I couldn't find the studio version of the track I'm referring to, called Sacred Hour. Luckily, someone has made a comparison on Youtube a few years ago, so check that out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgQxRk0W5Ag. _________________ §:-«l |
