Simply amazing. The rest of the band must hate Stian Aarstad (for getting caught). _________________ http://www.dissectionforum.dk/ |

| Dimmu related; wish the rehearsals would be released on cd or vinyl. Always curious about those. |

Dimmu demo/rehearsal compilation would be great. _________________

Dimmu Borgir was a band I never managed to get into. I had a brief flirtation with Old Man's Child because a good friend of mine was super into them, but that and Fimubulwinter where as close to Dimmu as I ever got. _________________ If you are a false don't marry! Well, as most people say "Listen to first LP".
1st and 2nd LP are only good. + 7"...
Unless you like tons of overproduced symphonic black metal. |

I've heard For all Tid and Stormblast. Neither really did anything for me. _________________ If you are a false don't marry! Girlfriend is ok but only destructing anus from behind!!! - Fat Dagon

Always loved old Dimmu Borgir, easily over COF. But perhaps a lot of to it's due to nostalgia. Enthrone... has a special place in my youth. I'm glad nowadays have the first three as LP and the first 7" too. Classic material for me. _________________

That's what I figured. I try to revisit them every once in a blue moon to see if my opinion has changed, since lots of people do seem to think that they're at least decent. But my opinion has proven to be unwavering about them since the mid 90s for whatever reason. _________________ If you are a false don't marry! The problem with Dimmu is that they never had any riffs, and it's obvious that they didn't come up with the keyboard parts either. Cradle of Filth always had vastly superior songwriting. _________________ http://www.dissectionforum.dk/ |

I guess Cradle Of Filth was a lot more pro in terms of songwriting, technical prowess and such, but I like both bands for different reasons. I owe a whole lot to albums like Stormblåst and Enthrone Darkness Triumphant and I think a lot of people in this thread do as well, in one way or another. _________________ §:-«l |

I still have a soft spot for För All Tid. Has anyone a rip of the DB demo? Supposedly a lot more rougher sounding Black Metal than what ended up on the LP. _________________

I still have a great fondness for the first few CoF albums, same with Dimmu. Id be quite interested to hear the Dimmu demo as well. _________________ Scum, subhuman scum... |

I'd love to hear the slower, non English-version of Enthrone Darkness Triumphant. |
