nevertheless if you're fan of that stupid hallucinogene theory, then we have nothing to discuss. let me just remind for others, that chemical analysis of the of the archived preban absinthes show us that the thujone levels weren't high, which is absolutely logical, because you just can't achieve toxic levels with natural fermentation, producing some hallucinogene absinth would require advacend 20th century technology while the real deal absinth is all natural (because of it's old origin) of corpse.
I'm not sure what your "censorship" is supposed to mean, but the only official EU-law restriction is 35mg/l of thujone. however this is classic example of unneeded legislation that does not originate in the concern about consumers health. it's easy to reach the true reasons for those interested. surviving preban absinths didn't never have more than 48mg/l because it was impossible to produce it naturally. today some maker's absinths exceed 110mg/l but even if you had 500mg/l, the required amount of such a drink consumed to have hallucinations would still be counted in tens of litres. sorry to tell you so.
http://www.oxygenee.com/absinthe-faq/feeverte.html
as for the know-how, a lot of preban era recipes survived and some are used today to produce the real stuff as the forementioned St. Antoine does and countless others. so one more time, "illegal hallucinogene Absinthe that became cult" did never exist and there's no evidence of it. also absinth was en masse popular drink and not an intelectual issue.
still you're right that almost all commercial absinth is false but I explained that in the first post. |
have you tasted the difference? I presume not. |

Here's a small appetiser for those awaiting Svartidauđi's ritual.
"Thank you for your words and music. Is there anything else you would like to add? Perhaps a warning to those who plan to attend Prague Death Mass?!
Bones are meant to be broken."

I can also recomend
Quote: | the one at Panská 895/6 street, near to Wenceslas square. this one has normal exgange rates and in some others like 20 metres from here You can get like the half of the value, so beware! 1$ is around 20czk and 1€ is around 25 czk |
Quote: | there's also one very recomended at Politickych veznu street, when You will go from Wenceslas square through Opletalova street and take the turn to the Politickych veznu street it's the first one on the left, arab guys, one of the best exchange rates. |

TAKING A CAB:
I wouldn't ever take a cab on the street, taxi drivers in Prague are extremely famous rip off assholes, especially to the tourists. 24h ticket to all city public transports costs like 5$, what usually is something like one third/quarter the price of one taxi ride from the hotel to the center. and if the driver is an asshole, it could be worse than that. if you're lazy bastard or loaded and don't give a shit, at least check they have the taximeter on.
but what I know from my Prague friends, there's a company with some discounted prices, this might come handy when you're drunk and/or lost. call 14014 (AAA radiotaxi), then you need to specify in your order, that you need a cab that goes wtth the 47% discount deal and they will send you a cab with this special price..
Code: | http://www.aaataxi.cz/Discounts-for-Prague/ |
the website has an english version and quite usable mobile app as well. but one more time beware!
"Not all contracting cars A A A radiotaxi Co. offer the cheapest rate. Therefore, when ordering a car ask for the rate of CZK 14.90 per km or discount 47% . We will send you a car, which will transfer you withing Prague for CZK 14.90 per km."
there's other company called Modry Andel. they have english website as well and they also have waaay better name among my friends, better quality of service and drivers not being such assholes. at least that's what my friends say.
Code: | http://www.modryandel.cz/en |
the phonecall/on-line/sms ordered ride is 19czk/km, that's like 1$. lurk for more here

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
use "Pubtran (Czech public transit)" mobile app, it got me everywhere so far, not only in Prague. works great!
I recomend you the 72 hrs ticket for 310czk. accepted in whole Prague in metro, tram, buses. needs to be marked before the first ride, that's what the yellow/orange boxex in metro stations or in the means of transport are for. oh and the metro quits at midnight but you'll get where you need, just use the app. |

Quick reminder for those interested, we'll have tape copies of DEATH KARMA "A Life Not Worth Living" available for Prague Death Mass, these will be distributed by Terratur Possessions at the event.
Also, thanks to people like Goatfvkk and Abgrund that have arranged to pick up tapes from me at the event. Hopefully the only things I'll have to bring back will be releases I've bought there for myself. _________________

Installed that one just some days ago and immediately deleted it again, cause it looked to me like it's only for travelling between the czech cities and not for local transport in Prague.
Tried it again now just typing Florenc and Andel though it wasn't in the list of suggestions and it resulted in a ride from Florence, Italy to Andelfingen, Switzerland, haha!
So, for mongos like me: First, you got to change from "trains and buses" to "Prague" in the upper right corner, then it works fine.
Thanks for that and all the other advice call_from_stars!
On the bus in 23 hours, can't wait. |
