|
|
A solid pack of black metal bands speak of the vengeful aurora borealis, ice covered landscapes, ripping blizzards, starlit northern sky and the desolate northern plains in their lyrics. It sure does not have the same 'effect' on the listener/reader when bands from Italy, Miami or Colombia scream of "frozen knives of the howling eternal northstorm", as if f.ex a Norwegian, Finnish or Russian band does the same.
Which black metal band/bands are from the planets northernmost location?
F.ex Russia, Canada, Sweden, Finland, Norway..Also there may be some intolerant obscurity hailing from Alaska or Greenland as far as I know. _________________ "...We know that these clashes with Asia and Jewry are necessary for evolution..." |

Old Wainds from Murmansk, Russia. A bit more northernmost. _________________

| Beargalat from Kittila in Finland. Although the demo I have leans a little towards death rather than black metal. |

When it comes to Iceland bands like Finngálkn and Vansköpun live much norther than Sólstafir and Svartidauđi, for example.
I haven't heard of a Black Metal band from Greenland, although it would be great if one existed.
Someone needs to relocate to Svalbard and start a band there. _________________ There is a country called Tír na N Óg, which means the Country of the Young, for age and death have not found it; neither tears and loud laughter have gone near it. The shadiest boskage covers it perpetually. |

| Iceland is not really that far north guys. A quick search showed at least one band from vadsř in finnmark norway. North of murmansk and further north than any part of finland. |

True, bands living in Reykjavik and trying to get inspiration from the snowy winter would have a hard time in all the rain we've been getting. _________________ There is a country called Tír na N Óg, which means the Country of the Young, for age and death have not found it; neither tears and loud laughter have gone near it. Active? Band name?
Nordvrede and Kaevum also came in mind here..Though Vadso is a good bit farther north than Tromso. _________________ "...We know that these clashes with Asia and Jewry are necessary for evolution..." |

| Never heard of them before, but they were called Darkness. Probably more bands from Finnmark if someone bothers to do a search. |
