|
|
| I'm just watching The Sopranos again (best serie ever) and there's an Ulver - Nattens Madrigal poster in the room of AJ. Amongst others of course and AJ wears shirts like Machine Head, Pantera, Slipknot (but it makes sense because they were very popular in the states back then). But I remember how surprised I was when I saw that Ulver poster. Besides that in Californication Hank Moody's daughter wears a Darkthrone girlie in a scene. I'm just curious is there any other connection to black metal in famous/well known series? |

That Ulver poster makes no sense in the Soprano's.
I mean, a producer could be a fan and just slipped it in there knowing 95% or more of people would never pay attention to the wall dressings anyways so it would matter little... but what kind of black metal or metal fan in general has a bedroom that plain and sparse of anything else decorative of the genre? ...especially when supposedley a teenager?
My room as a teen had every inch covered in Motley Crue and whatever else poster I pilfered from Metal magazines I dredged up out of the dumpster behind the bookstore.
There was a Danzig poster in the Movie 8mm (think it was called that with that clown Nick Cage as a detective or whatever actor)
Thought I seen something else more recently but cannot recall it. |

I remember in shitty Bones series there was an episode which dealed around "norwegian black metal". But the music/bands had nothing to do with black metal, everything sounded like some cheap myspace metal bands (propably because it's cheap?) who were just given instructions to put some mask on for the filmings. _________________

Danzig and Misfits posters, and there was a misfits record playing (Halloween II if memory serves) when Cage's character was seeking the murderer "Machine" in machine's own home. |

That episode had every metal head looking more like a gothic vampire the masquerade clown than a real metalhead, mind you the music was more like the mallcore variety black anyways, modern Dimmu or Cradle... so I suppose it all fit together. Basically how someone outside the metal world would view the metal world. |

In an episode of The West Wing there is some talk about Graveland and black metalheads threatening the President or something-can't remember the plot too well. _________________

in the movie Spun, the pimple face goon tweaker character is watching the Mother North video when the undercover detectives (also tweaker) burst into his room to arrest him for a "cops" style show they were making _________________ trade-want list/available list- http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20339 |

Yeah and if I remember correctly at the end of the movie it's listed as Satyricon - Fuel For Hatred hehe |
