Fuck, tough call - I think all four are great. All have great songs, and I love that out of control technical riffing. Human has the most 'punch' and the best bass work, definitely great all around. ITP has Andy, but terrible drum production. Symbolic I love all around, but rates just slightly less than Human. TSoP is fantastic too, great Priest cover, all the songs are great and everything sounds good to me.
I went with Human, but it's only a hair above the other three.

ITP is their best life metal album. Couldn't care less about 'Symbolic' excluding those great "Zero tolerance" and "Misanthrope".

Human is my easy vote since I've simply spent more time listening to it than other late era Death stuff. But ITP was always on regular play in my house when it came out too. I still need to give Symbolic and Perseverance a proper listen.

Yeah, Human brought DiGiorgio in which was cool... ITP added Hoglan which was interesting... I was never a huge fan of Chucky's vox but something about how the vocals are recorded and delivered on Symbolic really stick in my craw... after that album I had no desire to hear TSOP... and never did.

When I was younger, Individual Thought Patterns meant a lot to me. Nowadays I would say Symbolic is the best one of these later Death album.

Symbolic was always my favorite after the first two - and so it remains also on this day. I like some stuff from the other albums too but I haven't listened them so much so memories are not so strong.
