Didn't find a topic on this incredible black metal band from France, and I'm curious to know about their recognition worldwide.
Their second album 50 contre 1 is one of the best french BM albums, mixing epic black metal with killer thrash influences, incredible production and insane vocals (although I'm not sure non-french people will dig it as much).

They are/were one of the best bands to emerge from France for sure.
I was in contact with the guy for a few months and I had the impression that he was heavily into secrecy, totally old-school, and a bit lunatic maybe. This maybe didn't help him to get a good exposure to his works. He maybe didn't want this exposure, of course.
Anyway, all recordings I heard -the two albums and the Poseidonis tape- are solid and very original. And for once, the lyrics were well written and very symbolic too. They do remind me of some of KATAXU's ones for those who can read between the lines -which isn't very difficult in both cases IMO. _________________ Scrutare et vide quia propheta a Galilaea non surgit! |

I never heard Poseidonis, I'd really like to!
I had a few discussions with him too, cryptic guy indeed. They were supposed release a rehearsal tape for a long time, but it never happened. The band is more or less dead as of today, sadly. |

Great band indeed! The guy was previously in Maldoror, ambient project, with really underground sound...
50 Contre 1 is fucking good. That Poseidonis demo tape is rare, never heard sound on it.. |

I seem to have their first album Hyperboree, but I think I've listened to it once. Maybe it was hyperboring? Oh come on, you know it had to be said.
In all fairness, this actually sounds ok. I like having stuff I can forget about for five years, then hear it again and it'll be like finding a 2 euro coin in your back pocket. _________________ §:-Ğl |

50 contre 1 is very very interesting, great black metal. Vocals kill, song writing is very out of the ordinary.
Too bad this band is totaly unknown and it was never released on CD
New music would be absolutely great too _________________ Good transactions with: Peterott, Paria, Iscariah, Mangled Torsos, abomination_virginborn, Kakarot SS5, Tabun, Paria, tom245, sztorm75, CR99, Humus, 0%cured, hewhay etc |

Great band, paying big attention to guitar- and bassriffs and vocals. Riffs slightly remind me a little bit of 1st Taake album and old Peste Noire, but their material has an own style. Hysterical vocals, not many seem to like it. Hope the new stuff gets finished and recorded one day... _________________

Vocals remind me a bit of Exodus 'Fabulous Disaster' (in a good way).
Any distros selling the black vinyl version of '50 Contre 1' for a good price? |
I would ask the label that released it. http://www.stronghold-diaphora.de
Their distro seems to be off line at the moment, but I'm sure he still got copies around. Not too many people appreciated this album when it came out. _________________ WANTLIST: http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27912
