My top 4 new school records, and I am REALLY picky about this kind of stuff:

Necrophagist - Epitaph (mandatory for shredding!!)
Obscura - Omnivium (Cosmogenesis is great too)
Decrepit Birth - Diminishing Between Worlds
Beyond Creation - The Aura

All are filled with technical bass wank, ridiculous shredding, tapping and solos.

Don't sleep on Pestilence - Spheres either it rules.

beedley, beedley, beedley, bronk, brank, brump, brump, breep, breep, blang, blang, beedley, beedley. You can have your wank, your typewriter drums and your 75 string basses. I'm content with simple, evil, cavernous Death Metal of fuck.

In case you are also interested in obscure stuff, here are two pretty decent Death-wannabe 90s bands from my country:

Run some Bela Fleck through a boss metalzone with some Sun Ra solos...it's basically Rings of Saturn.

And also the new Artificial Brain.

Sentenced - North from Here is prob the best other than what you mentioned; it's like a cross of Coroner and Atheist. Coroner is also the shit if you don't know 'em (tech thrash though).

Afflicted - Prodigal Sun

Iniquity - Serenadium (avoid their other albums)

Oppressor - Solstice of Oppression

Nocturnus - The Key

Pavor - A Pale Debilitating Autumn

that's all high-class DM without much wankery (Pavor has a bit though).

Desecravity is pretty fucking crazy sounding.

This is their first album: http://youtu.be/8XPBjqiAJms

I would also say StarGazer is pretty technical, but not in that wanky jazz noodle way.

Solstice of oppression is great! I didn't think anyone gave a shit about that album.
