It's a trademark of the people form down under for sure, but in the case of Bestial Warlust, the pushed the boundaries to the limit itself.
I admit that I bought the debut album blindly. I was in London on a sumer trip back in August 1994 and saw the CD at a Virgin Megastore. I didn't had a clue about them but their aesthetics had an evil magnetism. Being so much into the Brazilian scene as I was I had the impression that they should stand up to their image, and so they did.
Listening to the record for the first time on my discman was one of those unforgetable expereiences to carry along forever. It's one of those rare times when you automatically know that you're facing an unique band, one of those few dozens that wil affect and influence you so deeply on your life to such extent. _________________ But I noticed nothing dangled between his legs. Bestial Warlust is appreciated here too since the debut release but I did not see them like a new level in metal. I put them into Beherit/Blasphemy style, but still in the shadow of those 2. So I am surprised to see the response here (positive surprise).
I remember Finnish radioshow mentioning "Osmose is pushing Bestial Warlust like a new Bathory (not new Bathory album...) to metal scene" ... I never agreed with it (for me everything they did was done already and I knew/heard it) eventhough I like their noise a lot. _________________ TRADELIST:

| Yeah everytime I throw on BW, it's just an authentic devastating crushing experience. At the time of Vengeance, it probably wasn't seen as such a groundbreaking release. I'm sure that's where the whole Blasphemy/Beherit clone accusations surfaced from. But now it's pretty clear that Warlust was something to behold, and I can see from this threads response that it's very obvious. |

With due respect, I couldn't disagree more. Omose's quote is nothing but a mere selling point to promote a release (I guess it was on their mailorder catalogue since the band was never a part of their rooster) so you know how this kind texts tend to exageration. _________________ But I noticed nothing dangled between his legs. I was disappointed with Vengeance.. as I'd loved the Corpse Mol demo so much and the new style just sounded flat. I really wish I'd see CM live as Bestial Warlust were quite boring and one dimensional at the Metal For The Brain fest I saw them at _________________

I'm trying (and failing) to find a scan, but the local "metal" glossy magazine, HM, pretty much called them the worst band in the world at one point _________________ "14 words: we must secure the depravation of the children and ruin the whole fucking world..." |

I sort of agree. As for live, it was hilarious on the Carcass tour (for overseas posters, BW & Abramelim supported Carass at the show I went to in 93 - killer line up) when the curtain opened and BW was standing there ready to go. I don't think the crowd was expecting it. |

I think that magazine had one decent reviewer back when I used to buy it (89 - 91). I think his name was Damian something - wrote the death metal reviews and was usually pretty spot on from memory. |

Bestial Warlust opening for Carcass? That's pretty cool. Not a huge carcass fan but I respect the early releases for sure.
Haha i'm sure people we're pretty shocked when they heard BW |

I always thought of them as Blasphemy on steroids. Nothing wrong with that. I know this band was hated for a while but I guess are excepted nowadays? |

Haha Blasphemy on steroids fits em pretty well.
Warlust just has a massive sound, especially on Vengeance... devastating. |
