Anyway, here we have some answers:
So now it looks like sending 1 tape from USA to EU will be $9.15, and 1 EP will be $12.15, and one LP will be $18.20. There will be a slight price discount for online postage purchases, it seems. This effects light packages of EP and CS the hardest.

I think the prices in Norway has gone down quite a bit on international shipping, ironically enough. Even I'm shocked over the new US prices, haha!

Well, I guess we will see. As has been mentioned, the customs numbers for larger Priority Mail International packages (when you have to use the white forms, for packages over 4LBs) are always trackable from the US to delivery in whatever country, at least they have been from my experience. So maybe they'll start using some sort of customs number that will also serve as a tracking number? The customs forms now have to be entered into a computer even on First Class International parcels, so maybe that was a precursor to these numbers being used for tracking too? I guess we'll know in a few weeks!

So did anybody reach a conclusion on the price discrepancy?
I still believe the prices I'm linking are the right ones. After looking at the pricing more, its really a 'fixed cost' price increase, where as the price per unit drops drastically very quickly. For example:
Canada: 1 CS = $6.91 but 2 CS = $6.91 or $7.70 depending on weight of tapes
Europe: 1 CS = $8.88 but 2 CS = $8.88 or $11.48 depending on weight of tapes

thats actually a HELL of an increase for a single MC... not sure how you package yours, but I wanna say it costs me around $5.60 (I think) to mail a single MC to europe and thats with cardboard stiffeners taped around the cover inside a 4x7 bubble mailer... obviously even less to canada
*edit* scratch that, I still have a photo in my phone of a single MC packaged just as described going to Norway from back in November. costs on the postage was $4.56, so yeah, thats a MASSIVE increase for just a single MC

For a single MC I wrap it in a 12"x12" sheet of bubble wrap, and fold over once in the front and once in the back for there's a good amount of padding on each side. Then I put it in a lightweight poly bag. Typical weight is 2.8 oz, but I suppose if the tape is a c-90+ or has a poor diet, it could weigh over 3oz with that same packaging. 1 MC to Europe my way is currently like $4.56 or something.

yep, same here with the $4.56, so we are looking at prices doubling. global economy my ass!! hahaha. this certainly does not encourage or promote free trade markets
