You honestly believe metallica eclipsed their nwobhm influences? Honestly I think holocaust had even a bigger influence on them, but besides that point that's just mind boggeling to me how anyone could think that.
Edit: unless by eclipsed he means taking the glory/outshining... cause in that case i'd agree. They definitely took the glory that those bands deserved.

Von is not one of Bone Awl's influences in any obvious way... their sound is much more clearly influenced by Ildjarn and early Absurd than anything else.
