| Almost two decades ago, there was a leader in the youth movement I was in with long hair, leather jacket, combat boots, metal bandshirts etc. by which young me was very impressed. During our summer camp he gave me a list of songs I had to look when I was back home. A big turning point in my life hehe. |

Under the Sign of Hell was the first "real" black metal I heard. _________________ Todays modern science is your modern religion. |

The first second wave black metal band I heard was probably Blasphemy around 1991 or 92 when my friend Vaughn played me Fallen Angel of Doom... in my car. _________________ The only email I have access to is nwnprod (at) gmail (dot) com. I do not have access to my old Yahoo addresses.

Cradle of fags unfortunatly, bought it cause somebody reccomended me to them, and sold it back to the store for a dollar! I was more into death and grind back then but hellspawn I think was first black metal stuff I bought after that, and the stuff I heard off a death records compilation I bought. This is a long long time ago.... _________________ "We must secure the extinction of the human race and apocalyptic future for all children" - 14 words. |

For me it was a couple of Venom songs on some 3xCD metal collection... I think it was Welcome To Hell, In League With Satan and Manitou. Heard it at a friends house in 7th grade or something like that. Some years later I started getting into total shit bands like Cradle Of Filth and Dimmu Borgir but since I've always had a tendency to look around for more extreme, more brutal and more uncompromising stuff (regardless of genre) I dropped all that as soon as I was exposed to real black metal. Mostly norwegian bands at that time, like Mayhem, Emperor and Darkthrone, but aslo swedish Bathory which I still listen to a lot. Nowdays much of what those bands put out back then barely fit within my definition of BM and I'm much more into the whole war/bestial kind of black metal today, probably because I just love extreme walls of sound and have been a part of the noise scene for many years as well. Favorite BM bands today include Black Witchery, Antediluvian, Teitanblood, Revenge, Ampütator etc... And although not bestial- or war-like at all, I also have a very soft spot for italian Tenebrae In Perpetuum and swedish Watain. _________________ ANTICHRIST ELITISTS RISE |

| That live cover of "Hell Awaits" on Cradle Of Filth's "Dusk And Her Embrace" because it was on a CD sampler I got in a magazine I bought for Pantera at the time. I was 11. Soon after, I got into Immortal and all the Scandinavian bands. |

If we're going by absolute first exposure then I'd have to say Cradle of fags for black metal. First exposure to death metal was Death. _________________
