Was listening to Blut & Krieg tonight, and obviously the first track 'In a Bloody Night of Fullmoon' is the exact synth riff from 'Det Som Engang Var'

Does anyone know the story behind this? I've researched it online but can't find anything.

Moonblood just nicked it and hoped no one would notice, or something else?

Moonblood stole riffs en masse, there's also a blatant Transilvanian Hunger ripoff somewhere but I don't remember the song because I think this band was extremely overrated to begin with.

Not sure there would be a story behind it, but simply a nod to an influence like so many bands have done.
The first riff in this song pretty much sounds the same as the one you mentioned to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0vRYdRVeGk

He wants to talk about Moonblood, not about other bands. Stop playing the forum police.

I haven't heard songs by both band that sound exactly the same, so who gives a shit? Bands play riffs in the context of the rest of the song so unless the rest of the song is identical, it doesn't matter.

Moonblood wrote a riff, they enjoyed it, they put it in a song.
The song got used on Blut & Krieg, people heard it, people made Burzum comparisons, nothing changed.

I guess that was the story behind it? Maybe there was a dragon involved somewhere. FUCKING DRAGONS! STEALING BURZUM RIFFS!

There's a difference between referencing your influences and exploiting the main riff from someone else 1:1.

Sometimes you can only speculate. Speaking of Burzum here's an interesting connection

https://youtu.be/oPgwrEDIEfI?t=26s

Is this not a Burzum riff or very close to it? Did he snag it from Di6? Who can say...

tbh most burzum riffs are pretty generic when you isolate them

Burzum took the Riff for War from Necromansy by Bathory, and Destruction took the riff from Curse the Gods from Necromansy by Bathory as well. Everyone steals riffs. I steal riffs from Archgoat. Listen to Dreams of Gold and then listen to Luciferian Darkness. It's not even something you do on purpose, if you play music it happens.
