Yes, there was. It was pretty damn good actually. I had helped the band get in touch with a new label to do a complete discography DLP including the album, the 7" (recorded under their old band name Falling Down) & the unreleased track, then Catalyst suddenly pressed the LP of just the album without letting them know, & the whole deal went up in smoke. Not talking shit on Kurt, but that kind of sucked... |
Shit, definitely would've liked to have seen that get released. The black metal progression makes sense, I think you can hear a BM influence especially on tracks like Pawn.
Abnegation was another decent 'militant' band involved with Catalyst, though some of their stuff (full-length, first demo and 7") is fucking awful. |

I don't even own it, but every time I make a Jamaican curry I torrent Bob Marley's Legend album and then play the shittiest most overplayed songs which makes my wife enraged, then I get bored of the joke and delete it off my computer halfway through....
Then I throw on some motherfucking Desmond Dekker for serious because that shit is TIGHT. _________________ http://www.last.fm/user/ngadke |

Hahaha best thing I've read on the internet for awhile. |
Now that I come to think of it, I'm trying to recall if I have obeyed their rule that "how to destroy angels" is never to be played in the presence of women, being "magick for the accumulation of male sexual energy" and all that. |
Haha. Maybe 'The Anal Staircase' is a safer unisexual choice for the ladies. |

Same. No embarrassment at all. How many DSBM acts have the balls to actually stab themselves directly in the heart? _________________

Nazareth - Expect No Mercy
The album art is cool as hell, the title is pretty badass, but the music... is just shit. |

I always wondered what the metal community thought of Elliott Smith. I figured most people would write him off as crap. _________________ Good sellers/traders: metalmac, greenmonster, Transcendence, GoldenBull, Paria

Anyone else getting tired of the "artist X is so much more metal than most metal artists because they mutilated and/or killed themselves" mindset?
AFAICT metal artists weren't the first musicians to revel in suffering.

Well I was joking around, but yeah it's probably one of the silliest gimmicks I can think of. In fact, much like naked ladies on LP covers, claims of self injury and other misanthropic deeds usually warn me to avoid a new band. _________________

I don't listen to Elliott Smith because he killed himself, in fact, I think his death was a huge waste of talent. I also don't get the whole "more metal than metal" thing either. _________________ Good sellers/traders: metalmac, greenmonster, Transcendence, GoldenBull, Paria

Metal axioms:
Naked sluts on the cover = shit record = avoid
Band of an insufferable faggot cutting himself and begging for attention = shit record = avoid
Corpsepainted mongo in retarded pose on album cover = shit record = avoid
Photoshop album cover = 95% chance of shit record = avoid |
