I collect Gary Numan L.P's, must have about 20 by now. Just picked up an LP of the out-takes from the Telekon sessions yesterday in fact. I dont think you could remotely call his stuff "gay" - with the exception of a few pretty average mid-late 80's albums they are dark as fuck, although it helps if you can spot the J.G Ballard/Phillip K. Dick/ William Burroughs allusions scattered through them. The recent albums are like a heavier version of "downward Spiral" era NIN, which is pretty cool in my book.

I only have the pleasure principle. His catalog is very hit and miss for me between 1984 and 2004. I love his newer stuff.

Agreed - there was a lot of patchy stuff in that time. I focus on the 79-84 period and then modern era stuff as far as collecting goes. Ever seem him live? Puts on a KILLER show.
