The Bruce Lee of Death Metal. Dreaming With The Dead might bring the pain, but Enter The Dragon is a deadly K.O. One of the most underrated gangs in Metal history.

Very good band, I feel exhausted when I go through one of their albums because it's not exactly stuff that's meant for easy listening. I'll go with the first because of the style which is more linked to Ripping Corpse than any of their other cd's, but you can't really go wrong with this band. _________________ Into the Menstrual Night We Go-o, Hey-Ho, Hey-Ho...

It is difficult music and I remember how hard it was to get into it at first. It's like a whole different motion than your regular Death/Thrash. But they have with time become a cult band among my older friends. A lot of them a now on the hunt for the Enter The Dragon digipak they got rid of years ago. Took us all some time to recognize the pure genius of it. |

Dumb poll... Enter the Dragon is a decent album. Everything the released after that is complete crap. _________________ Myths (Vinyl) - click me

Are you implying that Enter The Dragon is a better album than Dreaming With The Dead? Lol. If so, you need to go fuck yourself.
Dim Mak are pretty mediocre btw. |

Dreaming With The Dead + Knives of Ice - can't go wrong. Enter The Dragon is bloody expensive last time I checked. |

I've spent countless hours immersing myself into every release these guys have put out. From the first Ripping Corpse demo to the last Dim Mak album. I believe Enter The Dragon is their most significant and defining moment. The culmination of their individual talents packed in what I consider a perfect production. Dreaming is a great moment in it's own right, but not half as consistent as the aforementioned album. |

I myself prefer Ripping Corpse for sentimental reasons, but Dim Mak are pretty much the continuation.
Records like these require a wide attention span as well as a LOT of time to get into. Speaking for myself, there is a huge number of bands I will never listen to as much as they would deserve simply because I do not have enough time. I'm not surprised Dim Mak don't have many fans around, it's not "easy" or "safe" music at all and require tens of listens. A luxury in today's oversaturated scene. _________________ Into the Menstrual Night We Go-o, Hey-Ho, Hey-Ho...

I used to get free promo from willowtip for a college metal show I once did years back... I always received these Dim Mak releases when they came out and I agree I found them to be a "challenging" listen... it just never stuck with me... also the chorus on knives of ice is tacky as all hell IMO. truthfully I never listened to much Ripping Corpse though. ill have to revisit that today
back in those days I was more into your Malignancy style of technical death metal, or similar acts if you will _________________ trade-want list/available list- http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20339 |

I'd advice you to check out their pre-willowtip albums with Brandon Thomas behind the drums. That's where it's at. |

^^noted! I was really only familiar with the first two albums released on willowtip to be honest...
*edit* welp, here comes the cliche remark, but Ripping Corpse is definitely preferable to Dim Mak. I can certainly here the direct connections in sound though... fair to say Dim Mak is what Ripping Corpse would have slowly turned into anyhow? _________________ trade-want list/available list- http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20339 |
