Ave,
I will be in Berlin and Prague in around two weeks, by myself, and I am looking for some interesting stuff to check out from those around this area (or that have been there). Not so much record shopping as I'll be traveling light but some nice bars / breweries / monuments / history-related museums and anything death-related is welcome. Obviously I'll be visiting the Sedlec Ossuary around Prague and the various museums in Berlin, but other than that, not too sure what there is to do! |

Take the train from Berlin to Sachenhausen OUTSIDE visiting hours.
We arrived there around 5-6 pm on a Monday and it was completely deserted. The place was eerie as fuck |

If you're into history, this might be interesting for you:

It was a jail in the DDR and you'll be guided by some ex-prisoners. At least this was the case when I was there. Anyway, you should check it out. It's very revealing. |

Excellent ! Thank you for the answers. I am very much looking forward to visiting the Museum Island (pergamon museum mostly). That Czech cemetery also looks quite interesting. I'll keep these in mind. Any other suggestions? |

Thanks in advance | You're just too late for the Master show at
Baroeg. You could try to visit Sijf at www.sijf.nl
It's a nice bar in Rotterdam which has a lot of special beers. _________________

i went to all these places in Berlin during NWN Fest:
- The Memorial to the German Resistance (Valkyrie plot)
- Holocaust Memorial
- Berlin Wall (East Side Gallery)
- Potsdamer Platz
- the Halford (Judas Priest) metal bar
- Checkpoint Charlie
- Hitler's Bunkersite
- Brandenburg Gate
- Blacklands Club/metal bar
- the Reichstag
- Berlin Cathedral
- Alexanderplatz TV Tower (can spot from anywhere in the city, but would have liked to go to the top of it)
- Nazi Luftwaffe Headquarters (current building of the ministry of finance)
- various other buildings/sights i wasn't familiar with but took pics anyways. the architecture is great and i loved the old pre-war architecture some of the old buildings around still have.
also eat lots of currywurst/cheap beer. id go inside the Pergammon museum and others in the museum island to check them out if i could go back since i didn't have time, only saw the buildings from the outside. also i didn't have time to go outside of Berlin while there, but i would recommend trying to go to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, the Spandau Citadel, or the Sanssouci palace, all outside of Berlin but somewhat in the vicinity of the city.
there are other monuments and places of interest in Berlin i didn't get to see closely (or at all) i'd recommend trying to visit like:
-the Soviet War Memorial
-the Victory Column in the Tiergarten (only saw this from a distance at the Brandenburg Gate but never made it closer)
-Bebelplatz (book burnings site)
-Berlin Wall Memorial (preserved with killing zone)
-Topography of Terror exhibit (former Gestapo/SS HQ's)
-Altes Museum (Old Museum)
and i'm sure you'll have no shortage of finding more things to occupy your time sightseeing. best thing is most of these sights/monuments are free just to see walking around, so can't beat that. a lot of what i mentioned is all located in the Mitte section of Berlin. i can't recommend anything like record stores or shopping aside souvenier shops, but i'm sure you can find out more on those specifics. enjoy Berlin! it's an incredible city. _________________ good users |

If anyone came from Berlin or Amsterdam/Rotterdam and see this theme ,he can send me personal message about all good activities and places of the city.
I already know some things about Berlin actually,I have some friends there but any info could be useful.
I'll spend 3-4 days to Netherlands aswell. |
