I always liked all the intros/outros on "The Oath Of Black Blood".

Not really an intro but the beginning of "Walk The Path Of Sorrow" from "Dark Medieval Times" is very fitting to the music that follows.

And let's not forget "Apolokia" (and all the other intros/outros) from Impaled Nazarene's debut album. "Apolkia" has a great 'speech' though. Today it would sound cheesy but back then.... Twisted Evil

"Suomi Finland Perkele" also has a great introduction to the album.

Demoniac "Final (Epilogue of War)" from "Prepare for War".

"Testimony of the Ancients" has great intros/outros as well.

King Diamond "The Candle" has probably what I would consider one of the best introduction to a song/album.

I could go on and on. And I have to mention Summoning. It's always a pleasure hearing "Soul Wandering" or "Angbands Schmieden" or "Rhn". They always do a great job with their 'hints' of what is about to follow.

Truly one of the most eerie intros of all time. Very suiting to the album, which in itself is one of the true milestones in black metal history.

Couldn't agree more.

Also, a few more favorites of mine:

Satyricon "Black Winds"

Probably my favorite intro of all time. Dark, primordial, seething evil...this epitomizes what black metal means to me.

Behemoth's "...of my worship". Another extremely evil, creepy sounding intro:

I also dig the intro to Apolokia's "Frozen evocation" demo titled "Overture to immortality". It exudes a very ancient feeling and goes well with the demo cover and the general themes of the music.

'Winds of the Black God'
'Odens Ride Over Nordland'
'TIREHEB'
and the intro to 'Kathaarian Lifecode'
are my personal top.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwsLy-6Ii3o one of the most satanic things I've ever heard. Add old Graveland and Fullmoon's intro.

Plus "Temple" from Oath, Storm of Damnation from the Bathory S/T, the Classic Archgoat Intro, Whore Mass from SC, the Satanic Rites intro, "Communion of Putrescence" from Nether Tombs, "O Luserp Sitativic" from Illusion of Salvation, and Mutiilation's "Suffer the Gestalt", though it straddles the line between song and intro.

The Suomi Finland Perkele opening track would be my entrance music if I was a wrestler.

Anyone know where the intro for Demolition Hammer 'Time Bomb' came from?

Not technically an intro, but the opening synths to "Det som engang var" sets the whole tone of the Hvis lyset tar oss album.

I've always liked the intro track on Absurd's Werwolfthron a lot. And the outro plus one more similar track that is somewhere in the middle of the album.

I don't normally skip intros but the majority of them are too long and pointless. When I put on a black metal record I don't want to hear 2 - 3 minutes of nothing. If they're short and brutal like on Panzer Divison Marduk that's fine. A longer intro that fits the record perfectly I think is Enslaved - Frost

OBTAINED ENSLAVEMENT intro's are usually pretty wicked.
